Plooky’s is a great restaurant on the North side of Canyon Lake! If you like shrimp and crawfish, this is the place for you! It’s a lot of fun and quite the experience and perfect for a family night out! It’s open on the weekends, from 5-9 PM, but it’s definitely worth planning your visit around. The locals know to go to Plooky’s. I highly recommend checking it out and trying the seafood boil, it’s a must-have! Overall, Plooky’s is a great spot for a casual night out with great food and a fun atmosphere!

While staying in Canyon Lake area for the summer we wanted to try some good seafood. We love the Boiling Pot in Rockport and found this place just North of Hancock area of the lake. They’ve really spruced up the place since the last reviews 3 years ago. My husband and I got the Shrimp boil pot. We can eat and this filled us up! $22.95 for a pound of huge gulf shrimp, potatoes, sausage, corn and sourdough bread. We should’ve ordered the medium spice, my husband likes spicy but I can’t take the heat. The key lime and banana pies were also delicious!! The staff (all family of the owner) is super friendly. They are open from 5-9 and it’s byob. We will be going back!!

Shrimp, crawfish, sausage, corn on the cob and potatoes seasoned how you like it, mild or hot or in between. Add more seasonings or melted butter or red cocktail sauce. Warm sourdough bread.

Anniversary dinner at Plooky’s was amazing, they stayed open later just so we could have a wonderful sit down dinner and man did we eat!

Called in a large order of crawfish to go ahead of time for a big event and still waited an hour in the restaurant for the food. When we got home and checked the crawfish, they were dry, black and falling apart. They had to have known they sold us dead crawfish for $10/lb. We called them and they said to drive back with it and he’ll give us a refund. We drove back 30 minutes and thank goodness they resolved it with a refund because that is the worst crawfish I’ve ever had. That’s 2 hours spent here when the restaurant could have told us that they’re out of crawfish instead of selling bad seafood. They might be depending on people not having the time to bring it back.
