What a nice surprise Flagler Beach! Dulce De Leche Café serves an array Puerto Rican, Cuban, and Mexican foods, desserts, and beverages. We ordered Vaca Frita and Ropa Veja. You immediately taste the Cuban flavors even in the white rice. Black beans were a tad thin and scarce (rice to bean ratio was off). The Vaca Frita typically has a nice charred crust yet tender. This was not. An abundance of vinegar/tartness convinced me to request a to go box and finish the cook at home and balance out the seasoning. Surprisingly the Ropa Veja was thankfully not tomato sauce forward. The meat was tender, though not served shredded, which is how it should be served (named after old shredded clothes). Maduros/plantines were sweet, 2 of the 3 tostones ate a bit dry. But overall, it’s refreshing to find a place where there is an assortment of Spanish food that goes beyond a taco or tamale. The flan was creamy, and the rice pudding was just the right amount sweetness to the palette. I look forward to trying another dish or two and see how they hold up!

Absolutely love this spot! A great addition to Flagler Beach! We eat here at least once a week, I’ve had quite a few things on the menu and loved every single one!

I would eat here all the time, if I lived here. We were driving to another spot from a rec. from a local and saw this place. The look of the place and the name just told me it was most likely legit. We had cuban vaca frita and the mexican street style tacos (only tried the shredded chicken). The homemade soft corn tortillas we suuuper good. Everything was spot on.

We had brunch, my husband had breakfast. It is hard to mess up breakfast; but, he was very disappointed in his home fries and eggs. Both looked dark and the eggs looked really bad almost gray. The home fries were very yellow in color and did not taste right. To us, we wondered if they didn’t have a dirty grill, considering how poor the eggs looked and tasted. I had the Tamale platter. The tamales were not good. They were dried out and had very little pork meat in them. The ‘beans’ didn’t even look like beans it was a mealy, pale looking liquid, no beans to be seen. They were also extremely over salted. The coffee was big disappointment, as well. Very poor quality, with a strong bitter after taste. I am a coffee snob, I know good coffee. This was not good coffee. This was a big disappointment with a bill of $29 for brunch. We won’t be back.
