Root Food + Wine was a journey of flavor combinations that I never thought of together. They work amazingly well together. Smooth and crunchy, salty and sweet, popcorn and chicken?… delicious! Everyone in our party had the seven course chefs tasting menu. Kirsten, our server, described the complex taste revelations as “a party in your mouth” and she was right. We loved the vintage look and welcoming staff. This is a top notch must try experience. All farm to table. Their sources are mostly local and all listed on the front of the menu. All of our drinks looked like works of art and, as the food, we’re all exemplary taste combinations. I’ve included, too many, pictures of everything we had. It’s easy to see why this up and coming chef is winning awards!

Amazing!! We both agree it’s best meal we’ve ever had! Such creative combinations of seasonal fruits, herbs, oils, meat, sweets (basil ice cream, cucumber sorbet). And lots of delectable surprises along the meal! Fantastic friendly service! If you don’t dine here you’re missing a hidden treasure! 7-2023

This was an amazing experience we loved every moment. Our waitress Rachel was absolutely amazing. She explained what our night would look like and what to expect. I do not want to ruin this for you so I will keep the details secret. The food was fabulous I cannot even explain it woke our taste buds up. Thank you we will be back soon

This is not a restaurant, it’s an experience! Plan on spending a few hours here as each course is served with enough time to savor the flavors. I highly recommend the wine pairings with as it just enhances the dish. The service is exemplary! Our server Lily was very knowledgeable. Head bartender, Dylan was has a gift for creating unique and delicious cocktails. Chef Phillip’s dishes are nothing less than masterpieces full of flavors from local farms. Don’t miss out on this gem!

When you pull up the first thing I thought was this place needed to be painted. Didn’t want to sit outside because the weeds were so bad, needs some decorating overall in and out. Very underwhelming experience. I thought the food was good, chicken not so much with popcorn on it nor was the dessert. Dessert looked my bathroom loofah fell apart in there. Was burnt tasting. The portions are so small we left and went to Dierbergs and bought 3 dips and ate again. We won’t be back.

A culinary adventure! Flawless execution of creative dishes. We were a party of 6, all the following was wonderful; sourdough bread & butter, duck bacon, pate, lamb, trout, beef and veritable soup! Believe it is “Diego” the mixologist, a true wizard at his craft, Kelly Cosmo and others. For desert We had a cheesecake and the honey and milk both exceptional, honey and milk probably the finest desert any of us have ever had, fabulous!
