I stop at Rico’s on my way home from work. I love their burritos. The portion is large and fairly priced. The gentleman who takes your order has always been friendly, courteous and professional. Their food is delicious. Well worth the stop.

Best food (truck or otherwise) in Ames, hands down. Their tacos, tamales, and tortas are good, but it’s the burritos that feature regularly in my dreams. And the people! Thank you José, Miguel, and the rest of the fam for feeding us so well these past three years. Can’t wait to come back whenever I’m in Iowa.

So me and the boyfriend got here to Iowa about a week ago. We have eaten at a few places and nothing was good, until here. We are foodie people and decided to go here. THE GREATEST!!! We ordered 5 tacos and a tamale. Now I haven’t had a good tamale since I was 8 in Mexico. I’m 45 years old!! Thank yall so much, yall made our belly smile!!!

I’ve eaten here two or three times—can’t remember for sure. Anyway, every time I’ve tried something different. My coworkers are obsessed!

Holy smokes is this place good! Prices are very reasonable too. For $12.50 I got two tacos, two tamales, and a Jarritos… That alone made me want to visit again for dinner the same day. The flavor on everything was incredible. I was even impressed by the asada which had a nice bit of crisp to it on some pieces… No mushy, mass prepared food here!

Ordered the chicken burrito and 2 tamales. Food was ready under 5 minutes and everything was delicious. I have found my new Hispanic food place .

Ordered tacos. Service was great, food was 2 out of 5. Carnitas on point. Flavor was lacking in all the meats(no adobo, or seasoning) onions and cilantro were present but miniscule. Tortillas tender. Roasted onions were better than the tacos. All 3 salsas were good. I’ll try again.

Authentic Mexican Street Tacos! I’m from Texas and was not expecting to find authentic Mexican food like Rico’s this far north. They even have barbacoa and lengua. And all the flavored Jarritos. I’ve only tried the barbacoa street tacos but I’ll definitely be back to taste the rest of their menu. Hidden Gem for sure.
