My husband and I found this gem by accident on our travels home. We thought we would run in for takeout but as soon as we walked in the door we truly felt “at home”. Chef Stephanie (owner) met us at the door and from start to finish the service from her and Lisa (served and took care of us) was amazing. Going in with no expectations, the food blew us away. The fish and grits were perfect. The grits for me and my husband were the best we’ve ever had. Thank you to Stephanie and Lisa for your great service. We can’t wait to come back.

Whoot! I love this place! Just added it to my insider secret places to eat. it’s a breakfast and lunch spot, closing around 2:30p or so. The food is delicious and service is exceptionally friendly.

I must say the fish and grits were good, but at 17.95 a plate with no garnish and over a 24 minute wait on a Saturday afternoon with like three tables in the restaurant. I was not impressed. The waitress took her time like we were in another country or Europe. We waited for everything, for sugar sweetener for the watered down iced teas, and hot sauce for the salmon cakes. They were served with absolutely nothing no Fries no garnish nothing. The creamy grits were good the fish was good but the waters didn’t know if it was bass or another kind of fish. It definitely was not Bass, at 47 dollars for a late lunch I found it dissatisfying. The cafe sauce was also sprinkled on the grits as if it were just residue from the recently fried fish they served me. My suggestions are simple.

From the coffee, to the chicken and waffles, to the grits and everything in between. We enjoyed our visit thoroughly. Excellent food, service and atmosphere! Truly was a “Welcome Home”! PS – there were two pieces of chicken but I was so excited I ate one before taking a pic lol

Blink and you might miss it on your drive down Old York Road – but absolutely stop in. It’s on the smaller side but is super cute and there is a soul-food twist to the brunch they serve. I haven’t had grits that good since I ate in Georgia! The quiche is perfectly done and my husband loved his fried chicken sandwich.

I wish I could give this black owned restaurant 10 stars! The name speaks for the food! Everything is homemade including the drinks(we had ginger lemonade)! My salmon and grits was soooooo good! And the fish eith grits was cooked nice and crunchy. They also have vegan options as well, We had the vegan crab cakes and vegan scrapple . My son enjoyed his grilled cheese and fries, Our food was fabulous and our serve jaleel was amazing, helpful and his patience with us new timers was comforting! I will be back TOMORROW!

Whenever you’re in the Philadelphia area and you want some gourmet soul food, make sure you stop by Welcome Home Cafe. It is a lovely spot in Jenkintown that feels like Sunday dinner at Mama’s house.

Welcome Home Cafe is place that I should have run away from Welcome Home Cafe! I ordered one of the Sunday specials. Salmon cakes and grits. The chip ahoy cookie size salmon cakes were mushy and tasteless. The grits were watery with cold chunks of cheddar cheese on top. The one egg that was served with it was the only appetizing thing on the plate. I ate a quarter of the grits and one of the salmon cakes. I had no beverage and had to request toast. I decided to ask for the check.

Went here for brunch last week with my family. Though the restarting is small, it’s a very cozy cafe in a nice part of the city. The staff went above & beyond to make us comfortable. Very nice people (especially the owner) ☺️ And food was absolutely DELICIOUS!! I highly recommend a visit!
