Service was good, water was always filled, food was hot and burger had great spices. The Malibu burger is tasty. Atmosphere was homey and clean. Slow getting food but was worth it. Hot chocolate was a 10.

We are here cleaning out house out for sale…and we’ve moved almost everything. Saying that, we’ve had to dine out for every meal. Heggs has been our go-to place to eat. Love the breakfasts…generous portions, and the hash browns are wonderful. We haven’t had a meal that we haven’t liked! The service is good, smiles everywhere and always a welcome when we arrive and they always invite us back. My only problem is that they are currently closed on Wednesday…leaving us to forage at the store or find another restaurant. But as busy as they are, I guess they deserve a day off. Try the chili…I think it’s great!! Thank you Heggs for being so nice.

We stopped in while heading out of town. I got the 8oz ham breakfast with a chocolate chip pancake. My boyfriend got am everything skillet. It was incredible. The breakfast potatoes were cooked perfectly, the ham was thick and tasty, and the pancake was large and fluffy and the greatest pancake I have ever had. His skillet was a perfect mix of eggs and veggies and meat. Most of the time you see a lot more eggs than meat in skillets but not this one he had lots of ham, bacon, and sausage in every bite and he said the onions were grilled perfectly. I don’t come out this way practically ever but if I ever do I will come here. The waitresses were friendly and efficient. Cooks for our food our quick. I was amazed with how good everything tasted with his speedy the service was. You usually don’t get that. But I was pleased with everything about this place. You are doing a great job!

Today was the first time the service and food were horrible at Heggs. The potatoes we under cooked and the steak was over seasoned, I asked for coffee twice and got ignored. Never got coffee and when my husband finished his cup it had a lot of coffee grounds in the bottom and tasted quite water down. Hoping they are willing to fix the arrive and the cooks.

This little cafe has it’s strengths, friendly service, wonderful sandwiches and grill items but don’t order a steak. I’ve done so twice now and been disappointed both times. The steaks look fantastic but have very no flavor. For the price a person pays for a steak at Heggs, flavor should be a given.

Local hometown restaurant, good prices, decent food and good portions. Great place to go for prime rib, with good service. I know you’re asking yourself if I’m saying this, why only 1 star, right? Well, if you’re in the Afton area, don’t get your hopes up on eating here, because hours are not posted, and even if you call them to confirm they will open, it can change in less than 30min., and you get turned away. I know this because it has happened to me, and when i called them on it I got banned from ever eating the by the owner. So, all in all, due to poor management and less than professional methods of doing business, I give 1 star. However, if you are able to eat there during one of the fluctuating windows of opportunity, enjoy your meal and tip your server well! Especially if its Danielle, she is awesome!
