Hong kong style foods, really delicious. Must try the salted egg lava HK style French toast. Sweet and creamy richness explosion in your mouth. Tip: if you are taking pictures or videos, be prepared to take your pictures or videos. Also had the bologna bags, fried chicken and spam. They were huge sandwiches. The Rubato fun fun is another must try. I wanted to get the congee but was too full! Will be back when in Boston.

Rubato should be on everyone’s bookmarked list. The food is amazing. I highly recommend the friend chicken bolo and salt & pepper chicken. The staff is warm and welcoming and the interior is stylish and clean. I can’t wait to keep coming back, shout out to my friends for bribing me to this amazing HK cafe’!

LOVE this place. It’s like an upscale dimsum with choice items that they feature: bao (stuffed buns), congee and those long dough sticks that go so well with congee … then they have non-dimsum menu items like fried chicken bao which looks like a cross between a chicken sandwich in a biscuit and a spam bao with egg (yes it wasn’t a typo) – spam in a bao! whatever it is, it works! They serve hot or cold fresh soy milk, something hard to find.

I found this place through Instagram. Looking at the photos, made me long to eat there as soon as I can. But because it’s quite far from where I live, it was a deliberate trip to go.

The food was tasty, but there was basically no seating. We ended up sitting by the beach to eat it, which would probably be really nice in the summer but not so much in April. Still, the fried chicken bolo was delicious!

Nestled along Hancock Street is a discreet storefront, only discernable by a small neon sign. Once inside, there is a small but clean cafe with bar seating for about 9-10 people. It definitely offers a cozy ambiance. At the bar, there is an expansive window that showcases the street view. The window adorns a yellow vinyl curtain which illuminates you and the interior with a deep neon glow. I felt like I was inside a Wong Kar-Wai film.

We got here on a Saturday early morning, it was pretty busy. We ordered salted egg yolk lava French toast, Sampan congee, Bolo bun fried chicken, fried dough & red Chinrse New Year steam bun & HK style milk tea. They were all delicious & cook to perfect. One of onwer was very helpful with our order. unfortunately it was busy there was no place to eat there. We are glad it is doing so well. I am looking for next trip.

Went in to check out this new spot in my hood and I was absolutely blown away by the deliciousness!! I had the Fried Chicken Bolo & Spam Bolo. The spam bolo was like the breakfast sandos my Dad made me as a kid only 10X better! I almost cried with joy and felt just like a little kid again!! Do yourself a favor and go get some goodness from Rubato!

Absolutely love!!! It is one of a kind. The crispy chicken bao is fresh crispy flavorful savory juicy and just perfect! Am still thinking about it. The french toast lava is melt in your mouth delicious. The crispies and generous lava creates a great texture. Our other favorite (ate too fast so no picture) was the brisket bao. Will definitely be coming again. Rubato is a unique fusion that is perfectly and thoughtfully executed! Must try.
