At our Rockingham, NC location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Is normally a very great restaurant. I’ve lost my taste for seafood after many years. Though all of the rest of normal foods sold I Enjoy buying from this capt D’s. Which in the past when I still liked seafood. I liked much the original classic goldish color style type. During it’s first years open and at the old location. Have very nice foods for a non original fish camp style restaurant. Is great restaurant for our city here.

Surprisingly better than I thought it would be. I had the combo fish and skewered grill shrimp with fried okra and green beans and white rice under the fish. Just wish they had cornbread muffins instead of the dough roll.

This Captain D’s is absolutely fantastic. From the staff, to the food my experiences have been fantastic. The first night I moved to the area I was in an RV and was unable to use the drive thru. I just missed the cut off for the dining room so I called in and explained my situation and they were kind enough to assist me in placing and picking up an order.

We went kind of later in the evening, around 8:30. The food took quite a while to receive after ordering. It was warm, except for the coleslaw which was cold. The tea tasted a bit on the old side. Dont get this wrong, we know we ordered fried foods but for some reason it seemed as if we had ordered plates of grease. The corn on the cob was not good at all. The mac and cheese was a color that I’ve never seen before.

It was awful, shrimp and crabs were burnt and the fish didn’t even taste like fish. For 40 dollars you expect to get decent food, ours went in the trash! We will not eat here again!!

It had been years since I have eaten there. I have wanted some for a while so I decided to go to the one closest that would be in Rockingham N.C. The fish was soggy with grease. The Chicken was hard as a brick. I ordered the seafood plate it was supposed to have fish, chicken strips, shrimp, stuffed crab, hush puppies,slaw,and fries. I didn’t get my 2stuffed crabs. The only things ok was the hush puppies and the slaw. I was so disappointed. If there is a next time I will definitely look before I leave. I paid right at $17.00 for this plate. It was too far to go back to. I’m in Cheraw S.C. it’s just too far.

At first I thought it was going to be a bad experience, dinning closes at 9PM and I got there at 909PM in 30ft rv but a call to store and friendly staff let me place order and after living out west for 4 years finally got some captain d’s. Great customer service and food just as good as I remember
