Wow, better come hungry if you are going to stop at Del Ray’s! Large portions and the food was great!

The place was really slammed on a Sunday morning. We ate outside with our dog. Food was very tasty regular American breakfast. Coffee was more than serviceable. Only one wait staff when we arrived then as we waited a second waitress clocked in and service was super quick. I’m sure with a full staff this place pumps out great food and service. 3 full tables outside with umbrellas for super sunny days. They will ask you to leave if you lock your dog in your car and go inside to eat.

I’m just bummed about the patty melt I got. It was definitely burnt, flavorless and the onions weren’t cooked really, more just warmed and thrown on the sandwich (still had the crunch). The burnt flavor really was all I tasted. The waitress was nice, but it appeared she didn’t have much help and was left to serve everybody, which I’m sure was stressful. I’ll probably go back, but definitely will avoid the patty melt

This was my first time to Del Rey Cafe. It will be my last. I had Biscuits and Hash browns and Gravy. It’s always my first meal at any diner/cafe. If it’s good, I figure it’s worth a return visit. Here, this meal was disappointing, virtually tasteless (except for pepper in the gravy.). It was bad. Perhaps there was sausage in the kitchen somewhere when the gravy was made, but it didn’t taste like any had been used in this dish. The biscuits were not what I expected – flaky and a bit buttery – a Southern biscuit. These had a cake like or cornbread like texture. Nothing like the many biscuits I’ve had before. The rather greasy potatoes were the best thing on the plate. My companion had a chicken sandwich. She described it as “tasteless” and apologized to me for her choice (of the Del Rey) and declared she would never return. My recommendation is don’t waste your money.

Pancakes were oddly light in color, just barely cooked through but not raw. Eggs were ordered over medium and were somewhere between over easy and medium. I don’t really mind over easy but it’s worth mentioning in case you’re more picky. Service was pretty good.

Decent food. The coffee was weak. Eggs Benedict was good. Pancakes yummy. Biscuits and gravy was ok. Good gravy. Dry biscuits. Normal eggs. Average sausages. Small hole in the wall location. Pretty busy with many families. Food came fast and hot. I was looking for a quick meal while driving to Portland.

So glad we stopped at this local cafe for a late breakfast. Despite being very busy our server was pleasant and served us very well. The food was exellent and plentiful. My husband had a small order of bisuits and gravy which turned out to be a very generous pirtion. The biscuits were some of the fluffiest biscuits I’ve ever seen.

Best biscuits for biscuits and gravy in town. Decent gravy. I would recommend getting the half-and-half for a biscuit and hashbrowns covered in gravy. Only had breakfast here so can’t comment on lunch or dinner.
