Honest review. I must say that in my opinion the oxtail and neckbones are the best thing I’ve eaten there. The staff is real friendly and the dining area is really big and roomy. I ordered the fish dinner one evening and it was overcooked and looked like it was cooked in old grease. I went back and got the fried porkchops and they were old looking and real thin like breakfast chops. They were not cook to order. And the sides are not home made. In my opinion the cooks need to do better or the manager needs to check the food before it comes out.

I love the food at this place. I got my wife and I the oxtail plates today! Everything was amazing and they gave nice sized portions with our plates. I’ve tried different meals from here and have enjoyed them every time, as well as my wife and kids. Great food! I would recommend anyone to try this

Wow! First time there, and it was amazing! Everything from the food, to the service. First off, let me bring up a couple of highlights that I REALLY enjoyed. That Mac & Cheese was off the charts awesome due to a slight smokey flavor, which is because of the smoked gouda cheese they put in it. Simply breathtaking! The okra…….the best okra around, simply because it was not over battered, and you could actually taste the QUALITY of the okra itself.

Soul food is fair, beef tips and rice seemed like it had been reheated many times, and broccoli rice was not warm at all, macaroni and cheese was extremely over seasoned. Sides were better than entree. Waited 20 minutes for our drinks, which were just water and glasses were not clean. Waited 35 minutes for food and we were the only table there. Staff was nice however they seemed displaced. This was our third time in many months and it seems to be getting worse each time sadly.

First time going there and let me say I was blown away by the food, the staff that was working were very nice and friendly, the environment was welcoming, everything was fresh and hot, I got the fried catfish and it was probably the best I’ve tasted so far living in midland, the sides I recommend are the trio of greens, fried cabbage and the candied yams, I’m definitely going again sometime next week to try out more of the items they have. Before and after pics to show how good everything I got was. I definitely recommend coming here if you want to eat great food.

We had never been here before. We came in on a Sunday after church. We walked in at 2:24pm no one came to take our drink order until 10 minutes later. We had order 3 chicken baskets and kids meal mini corn dogs and a Angus burger. We didn’t receive our order until 3:06pm. The burger was a cold. The burger wasn’t Angus the food wasn’t homemade at all. The fries was the only thing hot on the plates. The gravy was clumpy. I could taste the flour. The toast wasn’t toasted, just buttered. The bathroom was so disgusting, my husband walked my daughter to the super fold and wash. No one ever came back to check on us. We won’t ever come back. Save your money and time. This place is not worth it.

Easily one of the best restaurants in Midland, definitely in my top 10. So far we have tried a good few things off of the menu and it’s enough to make us want to try everything they have to offer. Everything is always so fresh, and made with love. I hope to see this business continue to thrive

The food is wonderful. I’ve eaten there several times. The service is also wonderful. Expect to wait just a little longer. This isn’t a fast food restaurant. My only complaint is that it’s always to hot inside. They need to knock the thermostat down a few degrees. It’s consistently to hot each time I eat there. With that said, it doesn’t keep me away!
