Came for brunch and it was awesome! Have always enjoyed southern junction (would come for chandler street markets on the weekend). Ryan and his team are crushing it! Great bbq tacos (loved both – carnitas so good! And barbacurry tasty but def a little spicy but I enjoyed it, good spice for me). The biscuit on the brisket biscuit sandwich was fantastic. And loved the whole sandwich. Got a kolache to go as well (always loved those from before). The sauces were excellent – great bbq sauce and he also gave us a green chutney type sauce that was phenomenal. They did a great job making it their own. Beautiful patio. Great live music. Fun drinks – enjoyed the beer-a-Rita. Highly recommend!

Simply put there’s nothing like Southern Junction in BBQ world and that’s what makes it so special.

Unfortunately when we got here around 2pm almost everything was sold out so we didn’t get to try much but the carnitas taco was really good. The portion was huge. It could have easily fit into 2-3 tacos and the green mint sauce was really good. I hope to come back and try other items on the menu. There’s also a seating area in the back.

Finally made the trip to check this place out after first discovering them on Munchie’s YouTube feature. Food was amazing!! Never thought of mixing the two cuisines together, but they match perfectly together. Brisket was juicy and had a ton of flavour. The curry sauce and bbq sauce were also a perfect match for the brisket/pulled pork. Cornbread was also a big hit. Definitely coming back again!

This is the $16 dollar platter, and honestly this feels like a steal. They obviously didn’t think we’d need knives and they were right! The brisket goes really well with the coconut curry and the coleslaw on the top left is a really good refresher. Overall excellent food, would definitely work there over the weekends once college and the new location of this place both start back up again.

BBQ is one of my favorite foods and I’ve had a wide array of it from many different restaurants and States. If this is what “Texish” BBQ tastes like remind me never to go to Texas! The Mac & cheese & “baked beans” were absolutely awful. Tasteless and very bland. The meats were mid at best not very flavorful at all. The sausage was terrible -10. The star of the show was the twinkies & the corn bread that’s about it. Very disappointed and spent $60 not worth it at all. I most definitely would never try this place again. I’m convinced the people who have reviewed before me must of been paid for their review that’s how horrible this food was.

Probably the closest you’ll ever get to a TX barbecue counter experience in buffalo. Their brisket was done properly and didn’t just taste like pot roast. Prices were fair for the portions you get, unlike other hipster bbq places that tend to pop up in city centers. We loved the curry hot sauce and other touches of indian flavor in items like the cardamom cornbread and biryani rice w/brisket. I think it would be cool if they gave you a piece of naan or something, like how the texas places give you a slice of wonderbread to soak up the grease. Do get the banana pudding if you’re a fan of that sort of thing.

A Texas BBQ place with a full bar and fast casual feel. You can walk in, order your food and grab a drink all within 5ish minutes. Plus it’s a place you want to hang out in with plenty of seating and a beautiful, covered back patio with room for even kids to run

12/10 highly recommend this place!! Food is phenomenal and there is the option of indoor/outdoor seating. Patio is great, and the restaurant has such a unique vibe I’ve never really seen anywhere in Buffalo. Staff is friendly and service is excellent. It isn’t a traditional sit down place, but rather one where you go up to the counter and place your order and you seat yourselves where you like. I’ve had brisket in Texas several times but this was undeniably better. Cardamom cornbread is amazing, too! I guarantee you will enjoy this place!

Definitely recommend stopping by if you’re going to be in Buffalo. Friendly fast staff very welcoming. Nice patio seating when the weather permits. Patio was dog friendly which was a nice plus. Look forward to trying more and seeing the new location when it’s ready.
