It is a perfect neighborhood restaurant! The food is consistently delicious, and the servers all seem attentive to their jobs. They always ask if they can refill our water or get us another glass of wine or a dessert! We love our quaint neighborhood restaurant and highly recommend it.

I just ate dinner at El Rio Grande and wanted some cheesecake that I enjoyed in the past. It was closing time and the lovely staff let me in if I had cash. Oh I so wanted coconut, but had to settle for another great flavor. Informing the kind ladies of my birthday, they gave me cheesecake present. They are awesome and thank you ❣️❣️❣️

The service as great. The amount of food was not expected. This was my first time going and having bottomless. One of the cheaper bottomless brunch spots ($5.50) in BR. Haven’t been here during an busy time , so I wouldn’t know about calling for reservations. I’d recommend early, like 11:00 ish. I ordered a shrimp and grits a la carte and it was huge! Didn’t even eat it. The pancakes were flavored and fluffy. Definitely recommend going.

Never got appetizers and soggy fried fake catfish waitress only came to table one time in one hour had to sit and wait to let her know this is not the item I order off the menu , when she finally came to table I told her this is not what I order on the menu , she said they do not prepare fried catfish ( 2 catfish cut in strip as stated on menu) and the hushpuppies are nasty.never come back here again.

A cozy and relaxing bistro cafe with bar. Service was excellent, and the staff friendly and cordial. The cream of asparagus with lump crab meat is a superb must, and I can happily recommend there menu as first rate.

I gave 4 stars for the wait staff. The waitresses are always attentive, friendly and provide fast service. Our last visit on 7/23/22 was less than ideal, but not because of the quality and taste of the food or the waitress. It was because of an incident between an older gray haired plump man (presuming the manager or owner) and some of the waitresses. He came in and had a quick impromptu meeting by the bar that we could hear everything. He chastised the waitress/waitresses for phones, stations, etc. We feel that was very inappropriate and disrespectful to the employees to do something like that where customers could hear it all. This does make us think twice about eating there if management isn’t good to the employees. Happy employees does translate to good service. We do love the food, atmosphere and the wait staff. They always share a friendly smile and kind words.

As much as I love cafe american, I was very disappointed in them tonight, ordered my usual Alfredo pasta with extra sauce got my movie ready and waited for my food to arrive, first of all it was a half of cup, it was dry and looked overcooked, the container was dirty and I was heartbroken, but on a good note, the lemon ice box pie was absolutely delicious as always, thank you and have a great Halloween Weekend probably see you on Sunday ♥️ Thank you for your feedback and concern, I love you guys and will always continue to support Cafe American it has been one of my favorite restaurants for over 30yrs.
