Customer service was great. The size and place was the reason for the 4 stars. If the place was bigger and street level it could’ve have been a 5.

I found this place by chance, and I must say this Puerto Rican Eatery is so great. The restaurant is extremely cute as it is downstairs with walls of stone. It feels like you are eating a meal at the castillo. Try their monfongo with chicken chicharron. Mouth is watering . Then do yourself a favor and stop thinking about the horrible things happening around the world. Instead try their vanilla flan OMG! It is heavenly. The chef is a humble and sweet woman and the guy that works there is super nice . I will not steer you wrong, I hate to spend good money on bad food, but this place is so worth your money.I will definitely go back. The only reason I did not give it a five stars was because I didn’t hear any kind of Puerto Rican music . Otherwise, I would have given it 5 stars. Loved this place for sure and I’ll be back for sure! LGBT friendly and safe .The address is actually 15 Whitney!

I go to new restaurants to try it out cause I love google reviewing. Im unbiased and want to leave my HONEST review. Let me start off by saying the service is superb. They greet you as you walk in, everyone is smiling and it’s a nice little atmosphere but that’s were it ends!!! I HAD REALLY HIGH EXPECTATIONS. I watch Daym’s reviews on YouTube and the way he critiques flavors you know hes know what to menu. When I was coming in Daym was leaving out so I know he checked the food and I just knew he’s place would be 10 out of 10. Sadly I was wrong.

It was a bit on the pricier side, esp being in New Haven where there are lots of PR restaurants & the same quality of food. Myself & my husband went for lunch & ordered rice bowls, 2 iced teas and 2 empanadas… totalling approx. $50. We don’t usually spend that much $ for lunch but the food was delicious so it was all good, however we won’t likely come as often due to the pricing.

Such a shame has potential but is a mess! Ordered rice bowl and they put nothing on it, waited over 30 min for mofongo, and all the tables are dirty! Staff seems under trained and lazy with staff just hanging out not working. Staff has food gloves on touches money and register doesn’t change gloves and makes food with dirty gloves. Floor sticky. No apologies! Charged full price for half order. Never go here!

I got the Overload and it was amazing, a bit of everything. The shrimp was nice and garlicy. Everything tasted fresh. Came out fast, hot. The staff were friendly definitely need to go back!
