Ordered the chicken teriyaki and it was not really good. The meat and vegetables were fresh but it was just plain dried out chicken pieces and plain veggies no flavor. They don’t cook the meat and veggies in the sauce. The sauce is on the side and it is a thick gelatin consistency. They don’t give you a lot of food either so $13 plain dried food is disappointing. Maybe the good reviews are for other dishes but this was not good at all. I did call to make sure this wasn’t an error and that this is how the prepare it and they said yes. I prefer Royal Thai in Gurnee. I always wanted to try this place but probably won’t try it again.

So I went by lovely Thai today and they are open, there are people inside but the doors are locked and it says carry out only. So you can’t go in to get a menu so the only way would be on your phone. They don’t even have menus outside the door so people can grab one. It doesn’t seem very smart especially if you want people to buy your food you’d figure you put some menus outside or that are accessible somehow during hours so people can order your food. I’m annoyed so I will say common sense is not coming to everybody you either have it or you don’t and it seems like these people don’t have it! Ugh

My sister and I went here for lunch today. I got the chicken curry fried rice and the curry puffs. The owner is literally the sweetest person ever and the food was so good. My sister is vegan and got the Bangkok tofu (reminds you of orange chicken). She said it was the best tofu she ever had. I highly recommend this “lovely” place. Great food, reasonably priced, vegan options and a great owner.

I wish I could give 4.5 stars! My son and I had a nice dinner. I enjoyed the Pad Thai with shrimp and my son liked the ginger with chicken that was served with rice. We also shared the lovely rolls, which were tasty. Just a few minor things holding me back from giving a 5, but go try for yourself!

My partner and I just moved from Streamwood to Round Lake and were happy to find Lovely Thai as we’ve very much enjoyed several Thai restaurants in Cook County. We both tried the Tom Kha soup, which was very flavorful and made with fresh ingredients. My partner had the ranma noodles with chicken and said he liked it very much. I tried the pad thai with tofu. While not the most flavorful take on the dish, Lovely Thai’s offering was good. We will return soon.
