This place is ranked as the best place for pizza in Apex so we thought we would give it a try. This place is VERY small which would normally not be a deal breaker but the tables were extremely close together. The server had to squeeze between ours and another table and kept bumping into my seat. Neither time did she apologize. Besides the size of the place, the atmosphere and service was just ok. Nothing horrible but nothing stood out either. We were not greeted when we walked in. We randomly chose a table and sat ourselves. Our server was mediocre. She was nice enough and though she glanced our direction a couple times, she never checked on us until she brought the check. Now let’s get down to the main attraction, the food! Though this place boasts it’s New York style pizza, being born and raised in that area I can tell you it was far from it. The food looked good but it was bland, bland, bland. The pizza sauce tasted more like tomato paste and the toppings were definitely your run of the mill ingredients. I did see customers with other dishes that looked appetizing but again, looks can be deceiving. Overall, I gave this place a 3.0. Maybe it was just an off day. I’ll let you be the judge of that.

We ate dinner here with our grandson during a recent trip to Apex. Our server(s) were excellent and the food was good. Our grandson really enjoyed his pizza. The meal prices were reasonable with a variety of choices, not just pizza. The restaurant was small, but also had some outdoor seating. The atmosphere was casual and great for kids. If you are in Apex and want Italian food, this would be a great choice. We will certainly eat here again if visiting the area.

Anna’s Pizzeria is such a pleasurable experience. The casual atmosphere in lovely downtown Apex and friendly wait staff make it feel very welcoming. The food is excellent too! My family of 5 had garlic knots, a large cheese pizza, a slice of meat lovers, a slice of Sicilian and Rigatoni Rustica. Everyone really enjoyed their meal!

Delicious and surprisingly a lot of seating. We got the ricotta pasta and spicy chicken pizza (personal size), neither disappointed. Took about 10-15 min to deliver on a busy Friday night. They also have a takeout window around the corner we plan to use next time. Our almost-toddler son came with us, no issue. Loved the pasta.

Busy Saturday evening in Downtown Apex, but the 6 of us were seated quickly. Food and service was excellent and the prices were reasonable. We’ll definitely go back again when we’re in Apex. We had mozzarella sticks (marinara sauce was perfect), pizza, pastas and Stromboli. All food was perfect!

Please be sure you check your order when it’s delivered. I had a saturated bag of oil from my pasta dishes that ruined my carpet in my foyer. I called the restaurant to address it and they told me to call Grubhub, what a disappointment. I will never order from Anna’s again. So much for taking the customer out of the middle. They could care less about my experience.

Trick or Treat
Fabulous menu, extremely fresh & delicious food. Everything was made to a very high standard from the marinara, freshest & plentiful salads, perfect entrées & even really good coffee. The only downside is the dining area, overcrowded & not very nice. Locker room vibes.
