At our Kansas City, KS location, we are part of a historic seafood tradition. Captain D’s Seafood Restaurant first opened its doors back on August 15, 1969. A lot has changed since then, but our commitment to serving freshly prepared seafood at a great value has been our core mission from the beginning. Known originally as Mr. D’s Seafood and Hamburgers, Captain D’s was opened in Donelson, Tennessee. From the very start, we set out to provide quality seafood at reasonable prices, a concept that was revolutionary at the time.

Nice coming back to this spot after it’s was rebuilt after it was burnt down. Food was great, I’m not a fish fan but their chicken never failed to taste great. I prefer Captain D’s over Long John Silvers any day. Shame drinks don’t come with the meal.

This is NOT the first time!. Sat in drive thru about 10 minutes with only two cars in front of me. While the workers were outside cussing, interacting with guest that was visiting them at work talking on the phone, and smoking I assumed cigarettes. My soon to be five yr old was unhappy because she’s picky and really wanted some fish. After non movement and a couple of cars pulling away from behind me I convinced my child to eat elsewhere. I was going to call corporate but felt it would be a waste of time due to their whole staff day or nights is a joke. DO NOT RECOMMEND THIS LOCATION AT ALL and it’s very close to my home. I’ll drive 20-25 minutes away next time.

This store has great food if, they’ll let you into the building. This store, is poorly staffed to the point where, I’m surprised that this particular store is operating at all. When their store was to be open at one point, I tried to get in but, they told me that, they only have two people working so, they’re only accepting business through drive-thru. So I tried to walk through drive-thru but, they still refused my business. This store, is a problem and should be under different management or, closed down. I never was able to order any food.

It’s a hit or miss place. The food is always good, but the service is hit or miss. One day it’s the best, other times you wait in line for 30 minutes or more. Plan to sit in the drive thru a while.

Food is good! We ordered spicy fish, which was not spicy. So we went back to get what we paid for! Did give us our spicy fish! But when we got home we were shorted fish and shrimp! Cashier even said we cook to order so we don’t mess up the order! Ha, that didn’t work. She still messed up our order 2x!

Went to Captain D’s on 75th and State Avenue, never again! First they are out of all their sides except 2! And # 2 the person was rude on top of trying to rush us to order! Poor customer service! It should be 0 stars because that person messed it up for everybody else!

I live around the corner from this restaurant. It can be 2 cars in the drive thru and it takes 20 minutes or more to get service. Poor management I think. I would go more often if they weren’t so slow.. A lot of the times I get out of line and go to KFC because they are so much faster. KFC is across the road from Captain Ds.
