This is one of my favorite spots for a weekday sushi lunch. The classic Japanese approach to sushi and sashimi is no fuss, but of excellent quality. The bento box and sushi combos at lunch are of exceptional value. Service is unintrusive and attentive. The atmosphere is the only real let down here, with the shopping center location’s simplistic design starting to feel a little long in the tooth.

Yutaka Sushi Bistro is a Dallas staple. Their sushi, sake, and other food is very high quality. It may seem pricey to some, but it is definitely worth it. Space is limited, so if you want to come during peak hours, I would recommend a reservation.

The new replacement of Yutaka (Maji Sushi) has nothing to do with Yutaka. The food is very poor quality. The prepackaged sushi at Whole Food is better!! It’s the first time we have left sushi and sashimi at the table. Very bad food experience. If you are looking for quality, avoid Maji.

Overpriced imho: I’m a big fan of sushi and rolls, but wouldn’t come back here, as portions are really small, with very little amount of fish, not worth the price. The fish was fresh. Unexpectedly, loved one of their Japanese beers – was $8 for bottle, but really soft and light.

Those sushi’s are getting more and more small , seriously I’m really not happy paying 40$ for 18 micro sushis.

The atmosphere was very good, the service a little slow, but quality and price definitely below standards of a good Sushi joint. I lived in Hawaii for 10+ years and know average, good, and excellent food. This is not worth the price in my opinion. The rolls were not cut even and were loose rolled(look at pics). Unfortunately I do not recommend going here and will not in the future.

Best sushi in town. Yutaka is a master chef and let’s you know if you are allowed to use soy sauce on what you’re eating or not. Be aware of what it costs what you order or you can be unpleasantly surprised by a high bill. Enjoy the food! Yutaka knows what he’s doing and prepares sushi with a passion!

Super good food but the staff are all wearing masks still.☹️! Cra, why?! Made things a little awkward. And not just normal “I want to be safe mask”, but the serious high tech, major surgical medical masks. It was a little much, but otherwise, food was great.

This is probably the harshest 3 star review I have given. When we were greeted and we sat at the sushi bar, I had a full expectation of a true sushi experience, especially with sushi plates in front of us (see the picture with a black plate). The goods: the fish from the specials were fresh, shinaji and kimendai were in season. And at least the waitress admitted that the amaebi was not alive. The bads: I had to knock off a star for all the sushi coming at once instead of piece by piece. Why did we get sushi plates if we had everything come at once?Another star off for both the sushi rice not holding its shape and the rice was quite dry (picture with my half rice ball on my eating plate) and the fact that uni was out but nobody told us until we were ready to pay. This makes me miss Kiriko from LA…

The lunch box was good. The tempura batter was not overwhelming and it was crunchy. The California roll was more delicious than the regular ones, not too much mayo. My husband had sashimi lunch and he said it was very good. Daughter had sushi lunch, most of it was California roll which a little disappointing. Green tea was free, just like in Japan which was nice. It was a pricey option for lunch but coming from a city where good Japanese food is scarce, I think it was worth it. Parking was a little hard, we had to find parking at the road.
