Decided to try First Ward House Bar based on a recommendation from a local. The bar has a lot of history and it shows. Our hostess, Bethanie, was wonderful. She is very personable. Pricing is reasonable compared to what we usually spend on food in Denver.

I’ve never eaten at this establishment before, I ordered the lucky burger via Door dash due to being under the weather. I will say it’s a very large burger and you get your money’s worth, however, the fries and burger were overcooked. I think in fairness to this restaurant, I would try them again but in person to where I can request a medium well burger instead of well done. I will review it again at a later date.

The food was really good and came out in a timely manner. The service was not good at all. Our server sat and talked on her phone for quite some time. At one point I got up from our table and went to the bar myself for a drink. It wasn’t busy she was just more involved with her phone than the customers.

The food was very good, and the service was OK, once they discovered that we had been sitting there for a while… we noticed that others who came in AFTER we did got immediate attention, presumably they were regulars, as the server greeted and chatted with them before taking their order. IDK, maybe it’s just me, as a 1st time patron, but I was not impressed.

Went to pick up a to go order from this restaurant and was treated horribly by the pretty blonde waitress/bartender in the T-shirt dress. She came over and asked what was on the order, I proceeded to tell her what was on the order, mind you there were 4 items on the order. As I told her the first 2 items she rolled her eyes and said, “I got it” and walked away didn’t even let me finish. I waitressed for 10 years and never treated a customer in this way. Her customer service skills are horrible, not to mention the entire store front on St. Joseph Ave. was filthy. An embarrassment to the entire Northside if I do say so myself.
