While in the Cape May area on vacation, my family was excited to eat at the Romans Pizza House since we had a good experience last year. We actually ate here on two occasions this week. Our first visit went extremely well. The food tasted very good. However, the second visit did not go as because we had an issue with the flies in the restaurant fighting for our food. The service was extremely extremely slow for our appetizers and food.

Was really hoping to like this place. We went Saturday night around 8:15 pm. Wasn’t too busy when we got there. Waitress was very nice kinda felt bad for her since she was the only one on the floor and was running around like crazy. Ordered a large pie 1/2 pepperoni, wings (asked for them to be cooked well done), and an order of fries, food came out really quick. Really disappointed, the pizza was not cooked long enough, sauce was very watery, crust soggy, so everything just fell off the pizza. The wings that I asked to be cooked well done weren’t they were also soggy not crisp. I was waiting for the waitress to come back to ask her if they could cook it a little more, but she wasn’t anywhere to be found. We also weren’t able to get a refill on our drinks since we didn’t see her. Like I said, she was really doing everything in there, and I did feel bad for her. When she did come back to ask how everything was, I did tell her about the pizza and wings she said, “I’m sorry.” Not sure of it was an off night or they were rushing everything because they were closing at 9:00 p.m. very disappointed.

Pizza was the worst I’ve had in a very long time. The cheese wasn’t even melted, and there was so much grease the dough was soggy. The boy taking our order seemed lazy, and we could hardly understand him when he spoke because it seemed like he couldn’t put forth the effort to speak.

One slice of plain pizza. One slice of pepperoni. More cheese than sauce. Slices were not firm and did sag. Served hot from the oven. Taste was decent. Both slices earned a 7 point 5. Very friendly waitress and service.

We waited 15 mins to be seated, another 15-20 mins have our orders taken. We had to get our own menus from the counter. Then it took at least 45 mins before we got our salads. Tack on another 10 mins before we got the main course. The food was average at best. However our waitress was very friendly.
