Loved the trash potatoes. The staff is friendly, kind, and attentive. My coffee mug never got below the halfway mark before our server came by to give it a warm-up. The place has a wonderfully cozy, hometown ambiance that can’t be beat. Would definitely stop again if I’m ever in the area.

Traveling from Niagara Falls area to Chicago on business and “stumbled” upon “The Invention Restaurant”! What a wonderful find!! Entire environment is welcoming and comfortable… the servers (especially Heidi) were attentive and friendly and the food is Excellent! My husband thoroughly enjoyed the “Trash Potatoes”! My Eggs,Sausage and French Toast were excellent! (The Service was fast and yet Heidi kept the coffee cups full) Would recommend this jewel to everyone… especially those passing through!

A great small restaurant! Offers breakfast, lunch and dinner all day. They offer specials for lunch. The portions are very nice and the taste is great. Great service, everyone hustles. I recommend this place.

Excellent breakfast. Awesome staff. Made my way in with my daughter and granddaughter on a quick weekend getaway. All three of us enjoyed our visit in Milan, too. Came back the next weekend for the same great breakfast and time well spent with my brothers. My favorite is the omelets and the cubed potatoes are the bomb… Next visit I need to remember to take a picture outside of the Invention…

Wow! Nostalgic dining experience since I used to work here over 50 yrs ago!! Our server Abby B. was as outstanding as the delicious breakfast we experienced! The Trash Hash Plus was to die for…whew!!!Love me some Invention Restaurant!!! Y’all need to check this place out!!!

The food was delicious! My husband has a Cajun burger with jalapeños, I had a 1/2 lbs melt with sautéed onions and mushrooms, my son’s both had tripple plays (breakfast with eggs, sausage, and pancakes), and my daughter had chicken strips.
