My coworkers and I were in town for work and our first dining option was permanently closed (we didn’t know until we were at the location). We searched for another dining option and was intrigued with La Mariposa’s menu items, so we went. We all loved the environment created by the atmosphere and the staff. The atmosphere was very welcoming and our server provided the kind of service and professionalism you would expect from a michelin star restaurant. Food was really, really good. To find such menu items in a small town was very surprising, but the taste was even more surprising. I had the hamburger steak which was perfect to me: perfectly grilled on the outside for that slightly charred flavor and soft, tender inside full of seasoning and awesome flavor but not at all salty. The prices were very reasonable as well! So earlier I mentioned we were in town for work. I needed my receipt to be able to be reimbursed by my workplace; however, I forgot my receipt. Mr. Carlos to the rescue! I contacted them the next night and explained my situation. Mr. Carlos was very attentive and patient and was so very considerate and understanding. Without hesitation, he stopped what he was doing to help me with my ridiculous request. Thanks to his help, I was able to get the receipts I needed. Amazing restaurant with amazing food with even more than amazing staff and management. By the way, even the side salad was top notch!

There is a wealth of culinary skills located in this quiet little town. Everything we ate was of the highest quality. Awesome bloody mary, onion rings and poppers like I’ve never had before and then the fried shrimp NOLA poboy with fried okra and then the strawberry cheesecake. And a pic with the owner and Chef! What a special place!

First time eating here and the food was good. For a appetizer we had the Jalapeno poppers.Entrees: I had the Nola Po-boy which consisted of fried shrimp(blackened or grilled) with crawfish mushroom sauce and French fries. My husband had the Roast beef po-boy with sauteed vegetables which he ate all of. The atmosphere was cozy and the staff were very pleasant. I would definitely eat there again and recommend it.

Almost 4 stars. It is quite a place. The owner is very out going. I have added they also have daily specials that change daily. My son-in-law says the shrimp do not know what the inside of a freezer looks like.

DELICIOUS!!! Came randomly to this place by looking at the reviews while driving from NOLA to MS, and it didn’t dissapoint. Great burgers and po-boy sandwiches and local and latin food. Would recommend to come by the little city of Magnolia to enjoy this restaurant. SIGAN ASÍ, ES UNA DELICIA.
