The genuine story of 5 fives brothers building what many call a living dream. Mario Palacios Alvarez, Rafael Alvarez , Emmanuel Alvarez, Beto Alvarez and Salvador Alvarez. Our story started off in June 1999 when we opened My Little Mexican Cafe at the intersection of Roland Avenue and Clark Avenue, SouthEast San Antonio, where we stayed for nearly 3 years-to-date. with a goal to bring San Antonio and surrounding areas a taste of Jalisco & San Miguel de Allende Guanajuato, , Mexico , where all the brothers originally are from ,In August ,2001 El Jalisco Mexican Restaurant (#1) was started by brothers Salvador, Rafael, and Mario Alvarez, from San Miguel de Allende, Guanajuato, Mexico.

Oh goodness!!! I’m beyond impressed with everything all around. This is my first visit, so we tried plates that had multiple different items to try. The borracho beans were a different twist and my new favorite. It would take forever to gush on and on, so I will just mention the 1 thing we would do differently. My husband ordered a Mango margarita, next time (there will 1000% be a next time) we will try another flavor. We could taste tequila which was great, but the Mango flavor tasted watered down. I grew up in San Antonio and this is now one of my top 3 best Mexican food restaurants.

Authentic Mexican food in a nicely decorated restaurant with fun vibe. Large menu offers lots of choices for breakfast, lunch, or dinner. Great coffee also! High quality ingredients make for flavor packed plates with large servings. Staff are friendly and helpful. Accommodates small and large groups easily for both indoor and outdoor dining.

My husband and I tried El Jalisco for lunch. They have done a beautiful job of remodeling the building. The food was delicious. I had the chalupa plate, and Curtis has the Spring Branch plate. One way we judge a Mexican food restaurant is by their chips and hot sauce. They were great! Our only complaint was that where we sat was very loud. At times my we couldn’t hear each other talk. We will definitely be back!

Best Mexican food in the area. We have had breakfast and dinner here and haven’t been disappointed. Very friendly and attentive staff. Great location – lots of window seating with outside views. They also have outdoor seating and a play area for the kids. Homemade corn tortillas also.

We used to come here a lot when they were at the other location. Came through the drive through today at the new location. They used to have a good taco salad, but no longer serve it I guess because the drive through gal said they don’t. Settled on 4 tacos, but once we got home to eat them, unfortunately, one completely fell apart so it wasn’t able to be eaten. The corn tortillas also aren’t as good as they used to be. Seems there are a lot of good reviews, so maybe our expectations were just high because the other spot was so great. Maybe we will try again…

Great service! I am familiar with the typical Mexican restaurant menu and this one is a little different. Some things I expected to see weren’t there. Other things that I didn’t expect were there. Therefore, I had a couple of off-menu requests. Our server was quick to say, “I can do that!” I love when a restaurant goes out of their way to provide for guests. Food came out fast, and fresh! Very delicious too. Just enough spice with plenty of homemade salsa options on the side. AND there’s a nice new playground! Win-win-win. We will be back!!

Wonderful new Mexican restaurant that just opened in Spring Branch. The food is delicious and the service is awesome and very attentive. We arrived about 15 minutes before closing and they were very helpful and gracious. Their restaurant is brand new and very large with beautiful decor and a nice ambience. We sat on the large patio with our dog. We had the most delicious tortilla chips and salsa along with large plates of food with enchiladas and fajitas. Our waitress Rosa was very attentive and friendly. They have live music on Fridays so we will be back. This would be a great place to host a party since the restaurant is so large. Highly Recommend!!
