Got pickup. Never had fish at JD’s. So I gave it a try and let me tell you. It was pretty darn good. So get some. And the service was great at the drive up.

A nice little place to stop into. A great selection of food on the menu, with a very friendly staff. The service was great. I never had to ask for a refill on drinks, or if I needed anything, they brought it to me. I was visiting hays from central Kansas, and on this day, I chose the Chicken Fried Steak. For the price, I felt this was a bargain, nice portions with the 2 sides I ordered that came with it. My brother had the fried chicken, I must admit, I felt upset with myself for not ordering the same. He said it was great chicken, crispy, juicy, and well seasoned. I have no problem eating here again whenever I pass through. I highly recommend it, keep up the good work.

Food was OK. Nothing to write home about. The fried chicken was good, but not any better than KFC. Green beans were terrible. They came straight out of the can, no seasoning at all. The French fries had no salt and very bland. Service was good and prices were affordable.

Stayed in Hays and went to J D’s. Food was pretty good but a person should not have to wear a coat inside of a restaurant to keep warm. We were sitting in a booth right next to the thermostat, the temperature was 67 degrees inside. A couple behind us asked the waitress if she would turn up the heat and she said that the workers were not allowed to adjust the temperature, only the owner was allowed to do that. What happened to the customer is always right? The television didn’t work either. If the owner or owners are this greedy, you won’t see any more of my money. Plenty of food choices in Hays to eat besides J D’s.

This was our first visit. We both enjoyed the 4 piece chicken dinner. All of the food was hot and fresh. Chicken breasts we very moist and juicy. Staff were helpful and pleasant. We are looking forward to going back in the future.

They have change their menu. I had the fish sandwich and onion rings both were well cooked. The pie was firm and also well made. Their tea was much better than McDonald’s. But it’s a small dinning room and the locals eat there. Plus drive thru was very busy.

Fresh fried chicken is worth the wait! The toys are good too. Corn is not fresh nor flavorful, I’d expect the opposite in rural Kansas, and the biscuit is just ok but those aren’t why I’m here.
