For a real Southern barbecue experience with fast and very friendly Southern service and excellent food, Famous Willies is the place. This is my new favorite BBQ house. Tonight I had the brisket which was flavorful and melt in your mouth quality in a generous portion. The side dish standouts were the potato salad and Willies chili beans, which were the best I’ve had in years. Washed it all down with sweet tea and I just had to try a slice of the made daily Buttermilk Pie. Turned out to be a very good decision. I’ve never tasted anything like it. Got talking with Julie, and she explained that her father started the restaurant and that everything is made fresh on the premises. The smokehouse is out back. Even the lard rendered from some of the cuts is used by her mother to make fresh pie crusts each morning, with different type of pie everyday. If you like Texas BBQ you’ll love this place. The service was outstanding, attentive and quick. I legitimately have nothing negative to report. 5+ stars

Best smoked meat ever ! Great value. Friendly informative staff. They have a smoke house out back – How much more authentic does it get ? If you love smoked and southern food that is homemade then this is a must to try. Take out and dine in (sits maybe 20 inside plus a few outside tanles). Smoke house in pic

The food here was absolutely amazing! I’ve not had good BBQ since I was last in Texas and this rates right up there with some of the better ones! The value is excellent for what you get, and families can come in and share meals easily! The walls are plastered with pictures of different “Willie’s”. My dinner companion was William Clark.

Man. Best BBQ in the whole northwest! That Cajun sausage was amazing! The cowboy stuffed potato was the perfect meal. I got it with brisket and that meat was so tender and perfect. And the waitress… .Emma. . Sweetest and most gorgeous server in town. Best service ever. All in all the experience was a perfect 10, a five star review for sure.

Authentic Texas BBQ! Outstanding attention to doing it right. Well worth the 1 3/4 hour drive.

Honestly with no hard feelings I was rather underwhelmed. The brisket had very little smoke flavor it and was also very dry, under seasoned, and served barely warm. The chicken breast was also dry but the drumstick was decent. the two “spicy” sauces they had that were home made (jalapeno, Cajun) tasted more like ketchup than anything else. Best part about the meal was the Frito pie. The service was very good and attentive, but the food left something to be desired for a Famous BBQ spot.

Food was good. Good smokey flavor, as you’d expect. Prices are fair, comparable to other bbq joints. What really sets this place apart is the atmosphere. The server we had was very helpful and knowledgeable about the family history and pictures on the walls. Go for the Cajun sauce, very mild kick and pleasantly sweet. It’s a nice place to eat after a 500 mile drive.

Great food, great people! Just picked up a beautifully smoked, sliced and boned turkey for Thanksgiving dinner!
