I was looking for a place to eat close to Rensselaer field when I noticed that the old Goong Korean Restaurant was no more. In its place is this Peruvian restaurant. It’s in a fairly empty and abandoned strip along Silver Lane in East Hartford. My server was Spanish-speaking only, and it seemed most of its patrons were too… exactly my kind of place. The servings were generous. I was never asked how I liked my steak done. It came well done. Still, it was tasty enough. The service was good too. It’s an interesting find indeed.

Way overpriced! 20$ plus tax and service fee for chicken nugget and undercooked fries. Salad was terrible as well. dressing was colored water that didn’t have any taste… It wasn’t even supposed to be fries . Its supposed to be yuca fries. Highly disappointed.

A side of fried yuca is $4.50. How does a side of fried yuca and cheese sauce cause $13?. If I knew I was getting the same small side portion I would’ve just left the cheese sauce. When I asked the water about the price he just said he didn’t know. Definitely my 1st ans last time here. Not worth it. I could’ve gotten a meal for that price. Highly disappointed.

Only reason I keep coming back is the food. Food is great here. Service sucks, so I decided to only order food by phone. First time I ordered food by phone they were late with my order and the staff wanted to charge me $8 for a less than 1/4 inch slice of cake. This was upsetting since there was apparently one slice left which I asked them for and I noticed they cut it in half and put the other half on the side for themselves. When I then $8 was way too much for the slice they gave me , they ended up giving me the other slice which was comical. Same day they also told me they put forks in my bag after I asked, but they didn’t and I had to come back into the restaurant to get it. Very unprofessional staff due to young age and just probably understaffed. I tried ordering again via phone and automated message sent me a link to order online . I ordered online that process went smoothly. When I went to the restaurant to pick up my order at the time specified the restaurant looked at their screen and they realized they didn’t put the order in, they then put the order in to the kitchen…the staff didn’t apologize or offer any discounts … so , I may give this place one more chance because the food is great. The service really really sucks tho. Hopefully that gets better with time. I’ve given this place lots of chances and personally would like to see it succeed.

My mother requested I order several plates for her guests that were visiting out of town from Toby’s because I had told her the food was good. Well my mother called me the next day to say she was embarrassed to serve the food. The chicken looked nasty, the green pasta had thick noddles and barely any sauce and the chicken was chewy. The ceviche wasn’t fresh at all and the rice with seafood was like eating paste. The lomo saltado beef was good but the rice was clumpy like old left over rice and the fries were undercooked. She was very upset for spending $120 on food she ended up throwing out and I’m embarrassed for ever recommending them to other people I know.
