Considering that this place got 4.5 stars when it showed up on my Google maps, it didn’t feel like a 4.5 in regards to food or service. It is right next to a golf range in the same building as a pro shop. They have beers on tap and a separate menu for drinks.

Friendly service and nice location, but the food didn’t hit the mark. Everything was barely luke warm, from the mozzarella sticks to the hamburgers. We weren’t expecting haute cuisine, but cold onion rings are just terrible. We didn’t get the sense waitstaff was delaying delivery to table; seemed like the person operating the fryer didn’t have the experience to know to keep heating the previously frozen food until completely hot. Drinks were drinkable. If the food were piping hot, we might go back.

First time having lunch here and the brunch menu is what was presented. I ordered the Shrimp and Grits. I was pleasantly surprised that the portion was large for a lunch menu. The shrimp were perfectly seasoned and cooked very well. Spices had nice heat but not overpowering.. I loved the white grits. They were not a creamy texture but delicious nonetheless. Very friendly bartender and the atmosphere was great. We will definitely be back again.

Average food. Service needs improvement . Took waitress 5 mins to come to our table despite us being the only customers amd and telling us we could sit anywhere and she’d be right over. She was busy behind bar talking to a staff member. Both criticizing another employee and basically how she’s not getting it, etc. The whole time we can hear the whole conversation in the next room awaiting menus to be brought. She never did clear the dirty dishes two vacant tables from us. Service did improve once we ordered.

Have never tried their food. I have heard only good things about this place which is why I was so surprised at the service I just received over the phone when trying to place an order for pickup. I was immediately placed on “hold” but I believe the phone was just set down on a counter somewhere because I could hear various conversations going on between employees talking about what days they work and also customers talking amongst themselves. When the employee got back on the phone it was extremely hard to hear her with all the background noise and instead of going to a quieter area (if even applicable) she told me I was going to have to yell into the phone so she could hear me. After reviewing the menu off their website and taking down my family’s order before I called, I was told it was the wrong menu that I was looking at and they no longer had what we requested. Shouldn’t keep old menus on your website so this doesn’t happen to people. I was then asked if I needed the employee to read me the current options they have and after saying yes, I was hung up on. Not a very good experience for first time customers.

We just had an amazing meal at The Highland Grille! The service was excellent! Prices were very reasonable! And the Allagash White draft was on special. Large one for the cost of small. Wish we lived closer!
