My first visit to this place and because the reviews are very good based on the food. The person who served us was very friendly and I think there were only two people working that night.

The owner was extremely friendly and, kind and informational. He makes his own “HOT SAUCES” I was sold already, and they tasted really good. I ask him to hard fry and extra season on my fish and he did just that. I WILL BE BACK the next time I’m in Tennessee!!!!!!!

Was wanting something different and have seen talk about the dishes at MamaJuana 615. They are not normally open on Sunday, but the stars were in my favor so off I went. I met Marcos Santana (Army Veteran and Owner) and he told me about the different foods they serve, the unique flavors, and the various countries represented in their dishes. Also got to meet Will Lopez who posts about the dishes, he was working his magic in the kitchen. This spot specializes in Dominican and American foods, and that’s when Marcos showed me the Picaderas dish getting ready to be served to another couple. Picaderas basically means snacks or finger foods. Their offering consisted of Dominican sausage, Dominican salami, marinated rib-eye steak, fried Dominican Tropical cheese, plantains, and I added a side of the macaroni salad. Marcos asked me if I would mind trying a sample of their Dominican style spaghetti and I said sure.

If you love food, do yourself a favor and get to Mamajuana RIGHT. NOW. Everything here is incredible, including the amazing owners and folks who work here. They are so kind and take great pride in the delicious food they serve. We’ve made this our Friday night spot, but I think about the food all week! I recommend the picadera, oxtail, pernil, mofongo, mondongo, and the jerk chicken. All the sides are works of art, so you can’t go wrong with anything you choose. They also have yummy drinks that you can’t find anywhere else, so order one of the Dominican sodas or their lemonade or the morir soñando. Prepare yourself for one of the best meals!

The times I been here I can say the food is beyond amazing everything made fresh, the chef/ owner came out and engaged with his customers, extremely lovely staff. I been here a few times and everything I’ve tried has been incredibly delicious, they have one of the best crab cakes ever. The environment is clean, the staff would immediately clear a table sanitize it and leave it ready for a next customer.

First time here and the experience was perfect! The flavors were incredible and the quality of the food was top notch. The service was above and beyond and the vibe of the dining room was exactly what you want for this food experience. The Mofongo was as good (if not better) than any I’ve had, the pork shoulder and roasted chicken were phenomenal and all of the sides were perfect. They have daily specials and a regular menu and we’ll definitely be back to try everything else. The Dominican soda we tried was killer and there is beer, fountain drinks, etc. A nice little gem in the Boro that I wish everyone will find.

I ordered two picaderas to take away for $32 for 4 people, as they had said, and when I got home I opened the food and it was only enough for one person. It seems to me to be of poor service.
