There are times when you are in the mood for simple diner type food. Big Boy fills the genre perfectly. Nothing fancy but tasty regular food. The service is very friendly and nice, and I’ve never waited long for food and drinks. The open faced roast beef is great and one of my favorites. Desert isn’t bad either, so eat up and enjoy without spending a ton on noney.

Normally, this is a favorite of mine. This time the food was very bad. I got a big boy with fries, my normal order, it was dry and cold. Fries were overdone. It was not a great visit. Every other time I’ve been here, it’s always been great. Maybe just an off day?

I always get a big boy meal with a side of chili, chili is always piping hot. No other tartar sauce like theirs.

It looked dirty. We stood for 5 minutes. No service. We sat down due to my wife’s disability. They served another couple with a seat, menu, and drink order. They barely looked at us. After waiting 15 minutes, we left. The waiting staff looked like zombies and were not friendly at all. They wiped the table, but left the table wet. Never again!

It’s one of the worst meals ever. My daughter and I both had 1 bite of the chicken fingers and were done. Fries soggy, no chili and that’s a staple there. Got the salad after being informed of chili and was a handful of shredded iceberg and 1 slice of cucumber and 1 slice of tomato. The lady at the check out register had family members. With their baby crawling all over the counter. Just a terrible experience. Soon as we got back to hotel, we threw it in trash.

This Big Boy is going downhill. The service was not very good. I don’t really fault the people though. They were obviously short staffed. The waitress was working both kitchen and floor. The food was average. My pattimelt was slightly burnt. The fry size is not worth the price. It was a not memorable experience.

We have been dining at the BG area Frischs for decades, I like the Big Boy and wife the Brawny Lad. Over these many years we can rely on the same taste we grew up with, however on our last two visits in the past months, the Brawny Lad was changed from a rye to a wheat bun, and my Big Boy was missing the amount of sauce I liked. They tried to accommodate my wife with a patty melt without cheese because it is on rye bread, but wife says its not the same, I also didn’t enjoy the Big Boy. We are so sorry you’ve changed the recipe of these iconic sandwiches and we will likely not return to dine here. So sad.

For me there’s always some nostalgia attached to Frisch’s Big Boy. The prices are reasonable. Well as reasonable as you’re going to get in today’s economy. I’ve never had a wait at the door. The only thing they seem to run out of consistently is lemons for some reason. Not a bad place overall.

My boss took me here for lunch, very excited about the experience she had when it was known as Bob’s Big Boy. She was rather underwhelmed with her meal as was I, it honestly felt like eating cafeteria food in primary school. Two small fish fillets that were as flat as a pancake and a handful of fries, it was not sufficient at all. The one thing that we did enjoy was the dessert that we took back to the hotel, that was top notch.
