Each time I’ve been here, it has been stellar. Their salads are delicious, fresh, and gorgeous creations, and the sandwiches come on the yummiest gourmet bread – perfectly toasty on the outside and soft on the inside. The selection of fresh ingredients used is overwhelming. In fact, my one suggestion for improvement might be to offer more of a menu to give people a starting point when ordering. It’s wonderful that they’ll literally make you anything you come up with, but it can also be hard to think of what you want from so many choices.

Not a better sandwich to be had around Carbondale. The food is so fresh and the staff is just exquisite. Service was lightening quick and the value for money cannot be beat. Parking across the street is only .50 and there are plenty of spaces!

Sals Bistro makes the best salads and sandwiches in Southern Illinois. They are very reasonably priced and the quality of food they use is excellent. If you’re in southern Illinois and craving a top notch sandwich this is it. It’s a shame they even put a jimmy John’s down the street.

By far the best selection of subs and salads in the area. They have the freshest ingredients every single day so you can always count on high quality. All the sandwiches and salads are phenomenal. The regular salads are pretty big and the large salads are enormous, making them a great value. They don’t skimp on toppings either. And no one around here makes a toasted sub like this. Everyone must try Sal’s!!!
