Rene’s Eclectic Bistro and Restaurant is quite the find. This establishment in a quaint neighborhood of Glens Falls is a hidden gem. We found the place by searching for somewhere to eat Thanksgiving dinner. The chef and owner provided a full thanksgiving meal and offered to prepare anything from the standard, daily menu. I will tell you the food and service was 110%+. I wish I could post a picture of our meal selection. At any rate, check out 63 Elm Street, Glens Falls, NY on your next visit to Upstate New York. Oh, bring your own wine or beer.

While spending a weekend skiing at Gore Mountain I looked at Google restaurant reviews to find a place to eat. Rene’s showed up with the highest rating and I decided to try it based on it high rating. I cant compare it to any of its fellow local restaurants and will rated based on my NYC restaurant experiences. Its menu is trendy and was my main reason for eating there over other places. Service was polite and courteous but I never felt really comfortable in this converted home/restaurant. I felt the food was fine but lacked a little on execution. My son had the smaller steak option and it was not small. Quality of the meat was very good as the steak was very tender but did not excite our pallet. I wont mention our others dishes as the results where the basically the same.

I tried Rene’s for the first time last night and it was fantastic! I got the roasted duck and it was phenomenal; I’m definitely going to get it again. The risotto that my husband got was also wonderful. Definitely make a reservation if you plan on going to Rene’s because the restaurant is very small.

Such a cozy atmosphere. Only 7 tables and only open Tuesday through Saturday, 5 to 8. Food is spectacular and the service is extordinary. Bring your own bottle of wine or beer, they will be glad to serve it. I’m nervous reviewing because I want to keep it for myself.

We thoroughly enjoyed our entire dining experience! It is a small, attractively decorated restaurant and our server was very friendly, funny and helpful.

What a gem. Food is spectacular, desserts are beyond delicious. We appreciate the ability to order a smaller, or larger, portion as well as byo wine/beer. We will definitely be back when we are in the area.

Rene is easily one of the best chefs around. Love his steak with garlic smashed potatoes. BYOB is a real $$ saver too.
