Had a late lunch here, so we pretty much had the dining room to ourselves.

Great burger and German sausage. The German potato salad was amazing and so was the pickled cabbage. The drinks were also great

Our friends, my wife, and I stopped in for dinner. The location is a historic location but in need of a lot of restoration. Showing it’s age.

Charged almost full price($8) dinner is $12.49 for a fly in my food. It is not the price it’s the principal and hospitality. I do not recommend; the food was sub-par and too salty and the bread was hard. Corn was past bland. All this was before the fly situation.

Ate here for lunch on a Wednesday in July. Only one server/bartender was working. Only 3 tables were occupied. It took an unusually long time for us to have order taken, to get our food, and to get our tab, especially for as few people as were in the restaurant.

DO NOT EAT HERE (unless you are drunk maybe). Horrible food and bad service. Quite literally one of the worst meals I’ve had, despite this place having great food a few years ago. I’m very non-confrontational but I literally made an account for this review. I have had some school lunches that were better honestly. We waited almost an 1.5 hours for food that came out in PAPER BASKETS (and styrofoam cups) that fell apart as I was cutting (paper plates would’ve been better honestly). My very dry chicken (costs $15) was “seasoned” with just salt and pepper, had two tiny pieces, and one was so rubbery I could not eat it. The sides were fine but the schnitzel was not schnitzel—it was a thin, wide, flavorless pork (chicken) tender with thick, bland sauce. They forgot some food and when we talked to the manger about our very legitimate concerns, he was belittling and rude. He said he has no control over how dry the chicken is because it is grilled (tho that’s not how cooking works) and said that he has no choice but to use paper baskets since it’s the weekend and he “cannot risk” the plates being broken (who is breaking plates and how does EVERY other restaurant not do this then). He shut down everything we said with no real apology; all he did was take off the gross chicken and offer to bring out missing food despite us already being there for 2 hours now. Maybe if you are very drunk could the place be okay. I would like my two hours back.

We really enjoyed the historical ambiance of the Concert Hall and Barrel Tavern facade as well as the restaurant interior. And thank you for excellent service and good food!

The food, the service, the beer, the atmosphere, all was spot on. The bratwurst was fantastic, the local beer is extremely good. I chose this place randomly for my first visit to Hermann town after a trip down the 100 and I was very pleased.

Went to the Concert Hall today ignoring the negative reviews. My husband and I were looking for some place to go for a late lunch. It took a few minutes to get our menus but they were very busy. Our waitress told us that it would take 30-40 minutes for our food to come out. Didn’t bother us a bit, we know how short staffed restaurants have been and were used to waiting that long before we’re able to get seated in a restaurant in the city. We ordered fried mushrooms and they came out pretty quick. We both ordered schnitzel me with Jager gravy and my husband with the Rahm gravy both came with hot German potato salad and braised red cabbage, although they were out of the red cabbage and so I ordered coleslaw and my husband ordered mixed veggies. The coleslaw was good husband thought that the mixed veggies were frozen. The schnitzel wasn’t spicy but it sure was salty, and the Rahm gravy broke. Husband loved that he was able to smoke and the side of the restaurant we were on.
