Weird experience: Chips were terrible with a cardboard texture soaked in old oil, like eating leather. After sending them back, one of the cooks came out and asked me what was wrong with the chips. Before I could answer he began verbally bombarding me with statements that he made them fresh this morning and there was nothing wrong with them. If you want an unpleasant experience with mediocre food, you’ll find yourself at home. Otherwise Pueblo has plenty of other good options, ie Cactus Flower, Tacos Fuego, etc. The waitress was nice and provided attentive service but we will not be going back, particularly because of the verbal abuse policy of the restaurant towards customers.

Traveling through Pueblo and found this place on google. I had the green chili plate and it was simple, spicy and good! If you’re there with someone, partnering the green chili plate with the nachos was boss. The staff was extremely nice too!

Okay, I’m back to really liking this restaurant. I hadn’t been back in a while after a bad experience with some of the staff(some rude women). I don’t know if they knew we could hear them talking smack about us in the kitchen or didn’t care, but I was so embarrassed I just wanted to leave right then. I finally came back and it’s good to see they’re gone. There is much friendlier staff now.

First time visiting Papa Jose’s and we will be back next time we are in town. Food was very good and our server was great. Enchiladas and Chili Rellenos were our choices and were yummy. Great time catching up with old friends.
