Visited Luna on a Friday dinner. The place was busy on a Friday evening but we managed to find seating without wait (for some reason, their system was struggling to accommodate walk-ins. We made a Yelp reservation on the spot and were seated right away).

I was recommended this spot by a friend, but unfortunately disappointed from start to finish. First, it took a while for our server to come and greet us and this would’ve been understandable if I went during a busy time, but I was one of two guests that were in the restaurant at the time. Second, the waitress didn’t know the menu—she didn’t know what breakfast meats were available. Third, I watched her wipe her nose and without cleaning her hands, brought out our drinks. Granted, I’m sure this happens all the time at a lot of restaurants but if you’re going to do something unsanitary, at least do it where people can’t see you.. Forth, I was given French toast as black as charcoal. There’s no excuse for that. Again, the waitress was nowhere to be found. I had to call over the bartender to help with my burnt French toast order who began to tell me there was nothing he would do because that was the last order of French toast, but miraculously the manager was able to have the kitchen make another order. Finally, after all that, the waitress harassed me and my guest chasing us to the door, as if we did not pay our bill because she felt she deserved more tip than what we gave her. I have no problem tipping but based on the level of service and the food I was provided I tipped accordingly. To be chased down for more tip is absurd, ridiculous and unprofessional. She said “usually our customers provide more tip” As a black woman, I felt harassed disrespected and discriminated against. She was making it seem as if we couldn’t afford to tip any higher, disregarding all that happened.. I’m sure with that being said, she provides better service for her usual customers. It’s 2023, do better

Nice ambiance and decor for outdoor seating, but the food was ok. The burrata, wings and salmon were good. I did wish the burrata salad was a little larger. I was told the lobster ravioli was and Cacio E Pepe were ok. Service was a bit slow for a Thursday night, considering it wasn’t very crowded. We appreciated not being rushed, but we did wish they came by to refill our water. Review is from a visit in August.
