In a nice way, this environment is deceiving. The outside architecture of the structure and the unused drive thru portion give it the appearance of an old fast food restaurant. But, once inside, the place is stunning and not at all what I expected. They’ve done an excellent job with the decorations and ambiance, giving the establishment a more sophisticated air. Good thing the similar attention to care for design carried over to their cuisine since both my wife and I agreed that it was some of the best food, full of flavor and cooked to perfection. We highly suggest this establishment!

First trip to Hilton Head and saw they were within walking distance and had good reviews. Made a reservation. They couldn’t find it but when I showed that I did call the right number they accommodated us. Cute remodeling for dining area! Service was very good and very friendly I ordered the crispy duck and hubby got the three kings seafood meal. Beautiful presentation, delicious flavor.

Very delicious food and decent environment. The waitress is super nice, too. My child ordered the Thai noodle soup but she ended up finishing the drunken noodle (mild, not too spicy). We love all the four dishes. Each entree comes with an option of spring roll or soup. Highly recommend the spring roll. The soup is good if you like very salty and sour soup.

Ruan is good Thai food. We ordered spring rolls, Salad Rolls (summer rolls), Pad Thai, Thai Fried Rice, and Massamun Curry. All the flavors were good and portions were reasonable. We ordered take out. The phone was answered promptly and when a asked for tofu I was asked if egg was ok which I appreciated. We were given a 45 minute pickup window and our food was ready when we arrive.

We have been dining at Ruan Thai for many years as we would vacation here on Hilton Head several times a year. In June 2022 my family finally moved here permanently and after a busy summer we made the time to get out to the new location on 278 between Palmetto Dunes and Shipyard. Our son use to frequent that location before Ruan Thai moved in, and I can say that we were all pleasantly surprised! It offers a great atmosphere, comfy surroundings, great decor, the acoustics were good, lighting was just about right. The server we had was very nice and attentive. I went with my wife and teenage daughters for my birthday. My wife and i had a nice red wine, the girls had Sprites.

I’ve had Thai food all over North America and the food here rivals anything I have ever had. Nicely decorated restaurant with pleasant and attentive staff. We arrived on a Friday evening around 5:30 and were lucky to get a table as most to all were reserved. By the time we left every table was filled. Always a good sign. We will be back.
