*My rating is purely on customer service, not the food*

This review is going to be contrary to what’s posted, but when my wife and I visited, upon the recommendation of friends & coworkers, needless to say, we both were NOT IMPRESSED.

I am a local and have frequented this establishment for several years. I come here to enjoy the extraordinarily tasty food and fabulous cocktails about once a week. I have tried just about everything on the menu and have yet to eat anything I did not like. But above all else, I enjoy coming here for the extraordinarily friendly service. Almost all of the employees have worked here for multiple years and obviously enjoy their jobs and are all very adept at what they do and it shows! I have never had a bad meal, drink or experience here. Cheers to all!

We had a great time. Our food was delicious and drinks also. I wish they had shrimp cajun boil with potatoes, corn, sausage. But my fish was delicious. We will visit again soon!!

Friday special was the catfish was $25 instead of $30 and a couple of us got that. Pretty disappointed that there were only 2 medium sized pieces, fries and slaw for that much. It was good but that seems expensive for what we got. Even more disappointing was that this special was $12.95 a couple of years ago so it’s double now. Wife got the gumbo special which looked really bad when it came out. Noodles, sausage, shrimp, veggies, in a watery looking red broth. She didn’t care for it but I tried it and it was fantastic. Tasted way better than it looked. Got oysters too and they were great.

I’m from New Orleans. So I had to try the only Cajun/Creole restaurant in Durango. Well I was highly disappointed. The first day I came I couldn’t make a togo order bc they only take them from 4pm to 5pm. I got there at 5:02 and they told me Togo orders stop at 5. Ok, I respect it. I was late. I came the next day and got my Togo order. I spent $160 with the tip. I ordered the catfish platter 29.95. The alligator bites 19.95. The coconut shrimp 18.95. 2 of the Cajun salads 19.95. And an order of crawfish etouffee which was 19.95. Ok, here’s my problem. The FOUR coconut shrimp that u get for 19.95 was burnt. The alligator bites were over cooked so they were tough and chewy with no flavor. You can’t over cook gator tail or it won’t be any good. I cook it often so I know. The catfish was horrible. They need to change the frying oil they are using and the catfish was dry. It says catfish fingers but what they did was take a fillet and cut it in half. Catfish is one of the cheaper fish. There’s no reason it should cost $30 for 2 catfish fingers, some over cooked steak and shake fries, and some coleslaw. Now the coleslaw wasn’t horrible but it wasn’t great. Onto the etouffee! Coming from someone that cooks etouffee on a regular basis this was horrible. Absolutely no seasoning. The most plain Jane etouffee I’ve ever had in my life. And they put your etouffee in a cardboard togo box on top of rice so hurry home and eat before it gets the box soggy. One last thing….I guess they make their ranch “in house”. Well it was the most horrible ranch I ever tasted in my life. The salad would have been good if I would have used the hidden valley in the fridge, but I didn’t. Horrible experience. I will not be back. I might actually make some etouffee and gumbo and take it up there and let them try it so they know what it’s supposed to taste like, along with some gator tail. If I could post 0 stars I would.

The food was just meh. At least the lobster roll, which was the night’s special. and two cocktails I ordered. Drinks seemed very weak and after two I didn’t even have the slightest buzz. Loved eating with friends but I prob won’t be back.

This place is amazing. Can’t believe I’ve lived here 10 yrs and last night was the first time eating here. I highly recommend the soft shell crab, they have 4 different options and I chose the one topped with crabmeat and e’toffee. Probably the best meal I’ve had in years. Wife loved her coconut shrimp and they have the best key lime pie you’ll find anywhere.

As a Lousiana native my husband and I absolutely enjoyed our experience here. Coconut shrimp was quick and delightful. My husband loved the fried alligator poboy. I did the chicken fried chicken. Loved ya’lls greens! The server let me try the etouffe too and that’s a must next time. My favorite was the chocolate pecan pie, sinfully delicious! Thank you!
