I don’t go to other people’s towns and do this: But people need to know so they don’t get fooled like I did– This is the worst $30 I have ever spent. I ordered a hibachi chicken and steak. Neither of the meats had any flavor… at all. The fried rice had shredded cabbage in it for some reason? This ruined the flavor there. And the shrimp sauce couldn’t save it, because it tasted like mayonnaise mixed with dijon mustard and ginger. I went downstairs to the hotel bar at the Holiday Inn and had a better, cheaper meal…. at the Holiday Inn. Need I say more?

Shono’s always comes through with delicious food!!! We’ve been eating it for years and oh my goodness that salad dressing is amazing!

Excellent – Eddie special came with a salad, dressing and two shrimp sauce containers. Good portions and good price.

Still stuck in covidicity. Too bad. Food used to be great, now its a level 4 containment take out only, still!. Just close if you are that craze.

If you want good quality chicken with excellent fried rice and the BEST shrimp sauce, then this is the place! Staff is always so friendly and it is awesome delivered, too! I love the dumplings and ginger dressing salad. Huge amount of food for the price.

Original Zomato Review 1/30/26 – I think Shono’s is a hidden gem. The times I’ve been in, there’s not a crowd of people and the food is cooked to order (Hibachi style). I disagree with the food being dry and flavorless – the fried rice and chicken entree is quite good.

West Knoxville’s finest small restaurant! The citrus dressing on the salads so fresh and yummy! I always get the same thing, chicken and fried rice dish! I crave it! The fish sauce just makes it even more delicious! Affordable, filling. The restaurant is always very clean and well attended including the restroom! Highly recommend.

This is the food they serve in Heaven! Since I always get the same thing, I can’t address the other dishes personally, but Eddie’s Special has been way way beyond special every time I’ve had it–and I’ve had it a *lot*. Friends who have had other things rave about those too. I hadn’t been able to eat there for almost two months (surgery) and when I went in and that food was set down in front of me, I actually cried a little with joy–it’s that good. If there are leftovers, they’re just as delicious reheated, and you can’t say that about most dishes from anywhere. Service is fast, the folks are friendly, prices are great. The only thing wrong with them is that they’re not within walking distance. My favorite restaurant anywhere!

I ordered a chicken teriyaki bowl, but regretted it… The chicken was flavorless and the rice felt a bit undercook… Total was $7.59 but I would’ve rather pay extra somewhere else if I would’ve known the food was going to be bad

This is really a hidden gem in Knoxville. I’ve been going here for years and have always enjoyed the food. The menu is small but the food is good. The place is always squeaky clean and the staff is always more than helpful. The menu hasn’t changed in years but, that being said, consistency is a welcome trait sometimes. Try the dumplings… they are pretty good with the sauce they serve.
