I said I was a vegetarian and wanted the ramen noodles. The waitress said it wasn’t vegetarian and they can make udon with ramen noodles in it, and will make it vegetarian.

If you are a dasher or any type of food delivery person, DO NOT GO TO THIS PLACE EVER. I am not joking, after a few pick ups I learned that they are slow. Fine, i started to plan my trips around this so that i arrived at the restaurant a little later. Still, food was never ready. It’s not only the fact that they are slow, but when your food is actually ready, the staff is too incompetent to actually give you the food. They will just let it sit on the shelf even if you have explicitly told them the name of the order that you are waiting for. So, whenever you see a bag that is ready, you basically have to ask if that bag is yours. This is only possible if you can stand inside and see the bags be prepared. But it gets better because they will kick you out most of the time and make you wait outside. So there is no way to get the food in a timely manner at this place. No matter how good the order is, just decline. It’s not worth it.

We ordered food over the phone and picked up the order. At the time we placed the order, we were told it would be 45 min – 1 hour. We went to the restaurant to pick up the order after 1 hour and we were told it would be another 30 min! At pickup we presented a 25% off coupon from Dining Advantage. At first the girl had no idea what it was. Then she said ok and applied a discount. After checking the receipt at home did we realize she only applied 20% instead of 25%. We also realized when we got home that the drink that was supposed to be included in our order was not. Fish was not the freshest compared to other sushi restaurants in the area. Hot food was packed with cold food so that by the time we got home hot food was cold and sushi was warm. Would not visit here again.

Update: I tried to give this place a second and third chance, but it is hands down the worst sushi in town – it needs an overhaul on staff, and food quality – sushi rice is dry, I’m guessing old. Customer service is lacking, the wait is long for no apparent reason, and their food presentation could be a lot better. I’ll gladly pay more for stellar service and better quality. Tonight, a kid was puking right outside their front door. I won’t be back.

All you can eat is still offered here, so that’s a plus considering it is being phased out at many other sushi restaurants in town. The sushi itself however was a bit of a disappointment. The sushi rice in all of the rolls and nigiri was hard, like it was a day old. The fish quality was good, but the old rice really ruined everything else. Maybe it was because it was a Monday night or maybe they use older rice for all you can eat, I don’t know. The place was clean and the service was great though, so if old rice doesn’t bother you and you’re looking for AYCE it’s a good place to go.

We visited New Kyoto Sushi tonight and the service was beyond aweful! We did all you could eat and while we were there, there were 2 other tables, and a couple of people at the sushi bar. There were two waitresses plus the sushi chefs.

I don’t know exactly what’s changed since the ‘New’ was added in front of Kyoto Sushi, but I’m happy it did. It was never our first choice, but since the update my family wants nothing else! The quantity, quality, and overall service has improved dramatically over the last year and our stomachs couldn’t be happier!
