Best Pizza in northeast OH! We have family with dietary restrictions and their vegan kale pizza is always made correctly and delicious. Love their pepperoni and mushroom pizza as well. This place is always in high demand, so if you’re looking to get your pie at a specific time, call well in advance. They only have 3 ovens I think and there is some planning required on your part. Worth the extra effort though.

The kale pizza was great- the kale had a nice crisp and paired well with the creamy ricotta. The hot honey adds a nice kick. The 12″ pizza is big enough for 2-3 people to split for lunch, so it’s actually one of the better values at Van Aken.

Decent pie. Shouldnt take 1 hour 20 for 2 slices though. Second time i’ve made a to go order for 2 slices and have been quoted 60+ minute wait time. Need more help? Hire more people. Not enough ovens? Get a bigger kitchen.

A few months ago I tried to order a slice of pizza from here. I was informed that they stopped serving slices after 4 PM and only sold whole pizzas. Disappointing but NO PROBLEM. Today I intentionally went early (well before 4 PM) to order a slice. Tried to place my order at 3:10 PM and was told “sorry we’re all out of slices I sold out early today.” What??? If you sell slices until 4 PM that means 4PM, not “or whenever we sell out.” I won’t be back. Too much hassle for a slice of pizza.

A very good first experience except for the kale in my wife’s dish was too chewy and tough. She tossed most of it and let the owner know about the situation , so we’ll see what happens the next time. The gnocchi was amazing!

This place is absolutely fantastic. I came in originally for a sandwich at another location. But when I saw the gentlemen pull out this perfectly done pizza…I had to try it. Ordered a 12” Pepperoni and it was BY FAR (agreed by 3 people at the office) one of the best pizzas we have had.

So far I’ve been to this location twice. My second order was better than what I ordered the first time. The puttanesca wasn’t really my flavor, very salty and oily. The spaghetti and meatballs were very good! Pasta was well cooked and the meatballs and sauce were seasoned well. Great flavors for the spaghetti dish. I did appreciate that each meal was freshly made and portioned well. I appreciated the option to carry out as well.

I NEVER leave bad reviews. You can check my track record. But this place has the worst service on earth honestly. The employees really have an F you attitude, and I mean all the time. I didn’t mind it at first because the pasta used to be top notch. Lately something has changed. Here is my theory: I think the business has grown beyond its Van Aken location and its small amount of employees. It’s impossible to catch them by phone. If you go in person, sometimes for a pizza or pasta, it’s about an hour wait…which is completely nuts for the casual set up.
