We had dinner here for our anniversary and it was a comedy of errors. My first glass of wine arrived with two dead flies floating in it. What should have been a Happy Anniversary card said Happy Birthday. Then we waited 40 minutes after ordering only to be told by our embarrassed server that their computer had crashed and they lost our entire order. The food and service were both good, not great but good, and not good enough to forgive some really bad management.

Had a lovely dinner here with my girlfriend. We sat outside on the patio on a warm summer night and the ambiance was truly amazing. Our server was extremely attentive and the food was perfect. The menu here is always changing with what is in season and the chef (who later came out to check on the tables) is quite talented. Overall we had a wonderful time and highly recommend dining here if you’re in the area.

From the very start it is a true culinary experience where the chef speaks to all of the guest in the living room of the inn and spends 20 minutes describe the five locally sourced courses in extraordinary detail – just one of his descriptions would put the Food Network to shame. From the couches in the living room all of the guests are escorted to their table in the dining room and enjoy dinner at the Inn at Pleasant Lake you do not have a choice of the courses, only an option between two entrees – course four. On and I should mention there is only one seating per evening – Wednesday through Sunday but it is certainly an experience if you are in town you do not want to miss.

My husband and I had a small wedding with only 26 guests. We were looking for a dinner location with a beautiful view and a multi-course meal, and we were so lucky when we stumbled upon Oak & Grain. The staff was so attentive and helped us plan an absolutely perfect evening. The view of Pleasant Lake and Mt Kearsarge was dreamy and each course was delicious and absolutely wonderfully prepared. Both of our families have enjoyed fine dining all over the globe, and every person was impressed with each course and the wine selection. Just an example of how sweet the staff was: I learned that my four-year-old niece had cornered a server and requested “lettuce and cheese” be brought to her table. This was obviously not a part of her menu, but, nonetheless, she was delighted when she was brought lettuce and cheese beautifully presented on a plate 🙂 Our families will always remember this evening fondly. Thank you, Oak & Grain!

We went to dinner here as a pit stop on the way to Burlington, Vt. Alex was our server and she was absolutely wonderful and very informative. The dishes were unique and she was able to answer any questions we had. It’s got a lovely ambiance! We would absolutely go back again!

Ate here to try it out and it’s on my list of go-tos now. The service was very good, but the food was great!

Terrible. The worst dining experience of my entire life. The wait staff was incredibly slow and the restaurant wasn’t even busy. It took almost 2.5 hours for us to dine there. All of our food was over cooked. I ordered the steak medium, and it was completely gray and cooked through. When I sent it back, the wait staff had the audacity to argue with me and tell me that my steak was cooked medium. I’ve been ordering steaks for decades and I know what a medium steak should be. Awful service, awful food. Save your time and money and don’t come here.

Our friends brought us here for my NYC foodie husbands birthday. I don’t think he was expecting much. He was totally blown away by Chef Leary’s food and presentation. It was fabulous! He even stopped by the table for a chat on a very busy night. Angelo headed the dining room and was cool as a cucumber under pressure serving many tables and standing in as bartender! Knowledgeable, friendly and engaging all while juggling his many hats. Highly recommend. We’re looking into staying at the Inn now …

My fiance and I recently treated ourselves to dinner at Oak & Grain and thoroughly enjoyed our experience! The Inn at Pleasant Lake will be catering our wedding this fall and we were so excited to eat Chef Bryan’s food while we were in the area over Fourth of July. Our server Olivia was knowledgeable and friendly, and the food was delicious. The scallops in particular are a must-try! If you are looking to treat yourself or celebrate a special occasion, I can’t recommend Oak & Grain highly enough.

We have been for dinner & brunch. Both were exceptional! The chef comes into the cozy living room to explain the meal & the local places where the ingredients were purchased. They have interesting cocktails before dinner & a great wine list. I would highly recommend.
