We enjoyed the fish sandwich, bacon cheeseburger, fries and onion rings, with a mountain dew and an oreo shake. The fish sandwich had four pieces of fish on it. It was great, and we are super happy we tried it. The bacon cheeseburger had great flavor and was a classic diner cheeseburger. The onion rings were good, but the fries were even better. We ordered an order of onion rings and a medium order of fries, and that was way too much food. If you are a party of two, I would recommend a small frie and a half order of onion rings.

I just found out about this place a week ago with my scout troop on the way from Minneapolis to Northern Tier High Adventure in Ely, MN. Gordy’s was recommended by our bus driver as a good lunch spot. It is excellent in every way. Great food, awesome shakes, good prices, fast service. Big parking lot for boats, busses, etc. We liked it so much that we requested another opportunity to eat there on the way home. Two great meals.

The Hi-Hat has an old time feels to the shop and adds some pizzazz and fun to the overall feel. Plenty of outdoor seating with an employee announcing orders being completed over the intercom.

We belong to a burger facebook group and it’s told that Gordy’s is a must. We were on our way to Duluth and made the stop. We walked and the place was packed with long lines, but those lines were moving fast. We ordered the bacon double. Good burger, good flavor and the bacon was definitely flavorful. The bun was huge. We also got the spicy chicken burger. This is cayenne peppered breast of chicken with pepper jack cheese, lettuce, tomato, mayo, and kosher pickle. Now finally someone knows how to Mayo on a sandwich. It needed more pickle because we only got 2 little pickles. We had to take a tomato off because there was 2 thick cut slices which made it extra messy and hard to keep together. Good flavor. We also got the onion rings. We were told these are legendary. We were a bit disappointed because when you picked one up all the breading fell off. We will say it was a fluke and try them again. We got Guy Fieri blackberry handcrafted shake. Definitely good but maybe a different flavor next time. Now those fries! AMAZING! The best fries I’ve ever had. Crispy, flavorful and a lot of them. We also had the chili. Not a fan. It was too sweet and to chunky, but that’s personal preference. The staff was amazing. Fun and courteous. This will be our go to place when heading to the North Shore!

Lives up to the hype. Had the bacon double cheeseburger, family split cheese curds, onion rings and fries. Also has a caramel fudge malt. All of delivered with beyond friendly service. Highly recommend it.

Man I love this place. I had the Deluxe Double Bacon Cheeseburger. Mouth watering, juicy and extremely flavorful. Made fresh from scratch every morning. Also on the menu is the Fish Sandwich. Full of mild flavor and lightly battered with a flaky texture. And lastly the family sized Onion rings. Delish! Jeff S North Port Florida

I don’t make the trip up to The Range too often, but when I do, there is a compulsory stop at Gordy’s Hi-Hat. It never disappoints. They were pretty busy still on the Tuesday after Memorial Day, but the service was fast. A double Cheeseburger for my travel companion and a Deluxe Bacon Cheeseburger for me plus a half order of Onion Rings — we were stuffed. People move in and out pretty fast and there is a fair amount of takeout, so we didn’t have any trouble getting a table.

Gordy’s Hi-Hat was a lot of fun exploring coming back from Ely. Truly, the onion rings are not to be missed, which is saying something from a guy who pretty much exists on the beer-battered kind. A great surprise from my point of view. Solid, if not spectacular for burgers, amazing staff and service. Don’t pass it by without giving it a chance. The wait is definitely shorter than one would expect with a full parking lot. I’d do it again just for the rings!
