Very small but cozy place. I was greeted by great smelling cooking from the kitchen. I then was greeted with a welcoming smile and as I explained that it’s my first time, I was asked what I was craving for to which I replied “fish!” I was immediately recommended the catfish – which I used to eat when I was growing up in the Philippines. I could get 2 fillet meal for $14.99 or 1 fillet meal for $13.99 – that extra dollar for another fillet was too hard to pass up!

We ordered 2 fish dinners. I asked her was the Mac and cheese homemade, she told me yes and that was a lie. It was nasty. The cabbage didn’t have no taste at all. The only thing good was the whiting’s fish.

Sandbridge rental restaurant/catering, stop by Ellen’s for BBQ, Mac & Cheese, and string beans on your way to the beach. You’ll drive right past the restaurant anyway. Delicious food at value price. Best for large groups. We had 40 people to feed for a family reunion at Virginia Beach

Went to Ellen’s yesterday for the first time in a long while and I was not satisfied. I got the large turkey wing meal with potato salad, cabbage and an extra side of macaroni and cheese (I usually don’t order macaroni and cheese ANYWHERE I go but gave it a chance cause I wanted some good food that I didn’t have to cook myself). The turkey wings were a bit bland, the potato salad was definitely store brought, the cabbage was ok, and the macaroni and cheese…….. tasted like it was made with powdered cheese. I can’t believe I wasted money like that and something told me to just get a burger. Don’t think I’ll be returning.

Everytime I tell myself to support a black business I get disappointed. The lady taking the order was just snappy and had an attitude. I wanted to walk away but in my head I told myself “maybe she’s having a bad day” (no excuse of course). I ordered chopped bbq large for my son and large catfish w/greens and mac&cheese for myself. The one roll that was in there was partially opened so had to throw that out. there was a paper towel in my food I’m assuming to soak up the grease from the fish but come on. The paper towel was all wet and soggy over the greens and mac&cheese. My son only received a small thing of bbq sauce for his bbq. But overall the food was ok. Just the service experience turned me off.

I bought turkey wing dinner. I ordered mac & cheese and collards, but the college were not ready. So then I ordered yams. The wings and yams was pretty good. However, the mac & cheese was definitely box. It was a far cry from homemade mac & cheese, which I love. I’m not sure if I’ll go back there again.
