Barriques Coffee opened in Madison at 8410 Old Sauk Road in June 2007. It is located just west of the beltline on the north side of the road. We offer a full service coffee and espresso bar that opens early each morning. We roast our coffee in Madison a few miles away from this café. In addition to our irresistible fresh from the oven bakery, we have a light sandwich and salad menu to take care of your tummy. For evening enjoyment we serve beer by the bottle and wines by the glass or bottle. Plus you can pick up a bottle of your favorite wine from the Madison famous Wall of 100. Free wireless internet access is available. Barriques has been voted as a gold, silver or bronze Best Coffee Shop in Madison winner every year since 2010.

As someone who regularly explores coffee shops, both locally and in other cities, I am thoroughly impressed by the coffee and muffin my partner and I enjoyed. However, this was severely overshadowed by some of the worst customer service I have ever experienced at a coffee shop in my experience. The older gentleman who was taking our orders was incredibly disrespectful to both me and my partner, and I am genuinely disappointed as I was seeking a welcoming and comforting environment. That being said, the barista that was making the drinks, and the atmosphere at large was spectacular, and for those reasons I do indeed see myself coming back.

My wife and I ordered two small iced coffees for dine in. The teller turned around to make our coffee and poured it into two to go cups. He’s about to serve it to us and then realized his mistake. He grabs to glasses heads over to the sink and pours the coffee from the to go cup into the glass.

This place has not led me astray. Without a doubt my favorite of all the locations in town. The staff is great and always takes care of the guests. They might be too good at upselling the pastries but it is so worth it. The seating is plentiful and cozy as well!

The coffee here is from Madison Wisconsin. There own brand, thts a plus. Every time I walk in this business, the aroma is so wonderful, and the staff are so friendly. The only thing is the beans are whole. So if you buy some to take home, you’re going to have to grind them yourself. Please stop here for some of the best coffee in the city.

Coffee is great, the place is nice and cozy, pretty good selection of wine and ok selection of craft beers. The baristas we’re super slow on making drinks, otherwise I’d definitely give it another star, will try it again and for sure, big plus on the free WiFi, as always, make sure you use a VPN and protect your devices when using unsecured networks.

Overall a great environment to get work done and socialize. Bur when it comes to espresso and drinks in that category It lacks. I ordered a iced vanilla latte with oat milk( something I order often at coffee shops all over). But from the taste and the visuals of the baristas pulling the espresso shots I can tell they are doing it wrong. In short words just compress the grounds more. The barista only set the puck tamp and spinned it…. But once once you fix that you can adjust your extraction times ect… But overall an amazing vibe ✨️ here.
