The food here is EXCELLENT. But you probably already knew that Mexican in most of California is good. We wandered in here whilst strolling the Castro and the tacos and the guacamole are just incredible. I wouldn’t normally order empanadas but these were so good as well. Get yourself here for a tasty evening meal before a night out!

I recently had the pleasure of dining at santeria and was absolutely blown away. The overall experience was top notch! The service was outstanding. Wyatt, the bartender, was extremely friendly and knowledgeable. He made our experience so enjoyable. The atmosphere was beautiful with gorgeous decor and the food was absolutely delicious. Authentic, flavorful and impeccable. But the best part was the price. The prices were low for food of such high quality. I would definitely recommend this place to everyone. 5/5 stars.

Santeria is such beautiful Mexican Restaurant in the Castro! I’ve passed it so many times and I can’t believe I haven’t been here yet. They have both an outdoor heated dining area and an indoor one. And one indoors is decorated with some of the most beautiful murals in the area.

Ah, I used to love coming here, especially for a really tasty and affordable brunch. But, prices on their menu have gone up as of my visit June’23. For example, on the menu, a glass of sangria is printed as $12 but the website prices it’s for $14. Chips and salsa are no longer free in the name of “reducing food waste.” The most abhorrent to me is how they increased their SF “mandate” to 6%. On top of city taxes, they then suggest some tips. The tip presented on screen starts at 18%, but because it’s calculated on top of the taxes, it comes out to a lot more. So, a $54 base bill ($10 taco Tuesday and $44 pitcher) ends up being $75 – 40% more than menu prices – even calculating tip pre-tax. I think it’s outrageous that not only did their menu prices go up, but also they expect us to pay their staff their wages.
