On a whim, took a short detour to Historic Downtown Edenton – so glad we did! Had an amazing lunch at The Herringbone! Impeccable service, delicious food, cool atmosphere. We sat at the bar for lunch and a drink, friendly small talk with locals while the charming bartender shared history stories about Edenton. Put The Herringbone on your list of places to go!

Beautiful relatively new restaurant by the historic lighthouse and waterside. It’s well planned out and decorated and the food is fresh and delicious. John was lovely to have conversation with as we ate a refreshing lunch after a trolley tour. The swordfish over grits was amazing and the crab cake my mother ordered with asparagus was also perfectly prepared.

This is a great place to go. Our server (Amy) was great after taking our drink order, and my wife and I were looking at the food at the other tables to decide what to order. Everything looked good, Amy came in singing to the song being played,brought our drinks, and mine the bloodymary was great. My wife got the hurricane slurry, both were awesome. She helped us decide what to order. Great advice. My wife got the burger,and I got the avocado toast. Outstanding well worth the trip.The cooks need to get credit the preparing a great meal, and bar tender knows how to fix some awesome drinks. We will definitely go back

Amy, our server was great. We had a great time. With some really good food. Food seasoned perfectly & deserts were just the right amount. And the buildings architecture was beautiful. This experience was worth it for me. I definitely will return with more patrons.

What they have done with this old building is amazing. It’s gorgeous…even the restroom! It’s a lovely waterfront location. My girlfriends and I had a late lunch/early dinner today. We shared the chicken parm pizza and the wedge salad. The pizza crust, sauce & cheese on the pizza…very good. I can’t say the same for the chicken on it, though. The wedge salad was a bit small for the price, but tasty. Our server was excellent and showed us around a bit. I recommend giving this establishment a try.

Older building with renovation to make it very eye appealing. The cheeseburger and fries were good. Sweet tea was very good also. Stopped her while on vacation visiting the downtown historic area. May return before we leave and. Not too overpriced for what you get and quality.

They have done such an amazing job rehabilitating this old building on the waterfront in Edenton! The atmosphere is perfect for the setting and worth a trip to this area if you’re from out of town. The staff does a good job for the price point, and the cooks deliver on the food quality as well. Our server recommended the roasted fingerling sweet potatoes for an appetizer, and they definitely won the show for us; they are a must-try!! They also had live music when we visited, which was a nice surprise as well. We look forward to our next visit!

Cons: It was a bit confusing to find where the actual entrance was for dining (not for the bar). We did also have to wait a while on our food and the appetizer came out at the same time as our mains unfortunately.

We rented the private room for our daughter’s small wedding reception last night and it was wonderful! The atmosphere can’t be beat, absolute perfection! The food was very good, beef tips and roasted potatoes and chicken with cauliflower were the main dishes, we were especially impressed with the beef tips, perfectly cooked. The staff was so helpful and so nice as well. Thank you to The Herringbone for being the PERFECT place for our event!!
