The food was very good, hands down. However, the price for the side portions, especially the mac and cheese was disappointing. I paid $7 for a side of mac and cheese that came in a container which other restaurants use for condiments like ketchup and mustard. The cornbread was very good. It was a nice size. I had the fried calamari. If you love peppers, there was plenty that came with the calamari. However, if you don’t like peppers, you can get the dish without them. Unfortunately, I did not realize this until after I was talking with the staff member.

Nice vibe! (Even though no DJ on a Saturday night ♀️) Celebrated a birthday had dinner with 13 other people food was very good lightly fried whitings mac and cheese, yams, Steak and Calamari. Food came out at different times (room for improvement) great customer service by our server Deserae and Shawnae made excellent chocolate martini’s ♥️ at the bar, so much so I ordered 3 as they were strong and on point! I don’t like the parking situation as it was kind of confusing but will definitely visit again

My daughters took me for my 48th Birthday. What an amazing time. The atmosphere and energy was warm felt like I was at home. The food was just delicious. I haven’t enjoyed a meal from a restaurant in a long time. But this place was absolutely the best. Highly recommend. Brittany our waitress was awesome! I will be back soon. When I say everything was BaNGiNG! Make you wanna slap your momma!!! Must try! Cheers to Guily Kitchen!

My family and I went two nights in the row. The first night everything went pretty well! The food was very tasty and everyone was happy with their meals. The second night didn’t go so well. I got my meal after everyone else were done with theirs. Half of what was ordered they were out of and we were getting food we didn’t ask for! If I had only gone the first night I would have giving you 4 stars possibly 5 but being that we weren’t happy with service the second night I had to go with 3. I’ll definitely be back though since the food is good and flavorful but I will be calling to make sure you have what I want before coming! Thank You for finally bringing some flavorful food to Hartford!

Dined here for brunch and was not disappointed. On street parking only. Attentive and professional staff. The “Prison Punch” was tasty…it will “punch” you, so be careful ☺️. I ordered the fish and grits with a side of eggs. Fish fried just right and for me, the grits didn’t need any salt (or sugar for those who put sugar in their grits). My friend ordered the shrimp and grits. She said it was “so good”. The only negative about the shrimp dish is it was only served with three shrimp, which doesn’t equate to the cost of the dish nor with a hungry appetite. Otherwise, I highly recommend supporting this small business.

Went there on Friday, to support Black owned business. I order chicken wings (well done) they come out yellow and they told me that it was well done. I ended up having to order from the Brunch menu because they had NOTHING I asked for on the menu. The butter was stale (months old), the cook came out to ask how the food was and had to take everything back. They only had one waitress. The grits were watery. The first rule of a new restaurant is to have all the signature dishes in stock. Below is a picture of the stale, tiny, undercooked waffles and wings. The fish was frozen, nothing was fresh. The calamari was frozen and over peppered. Unfortunately this is NOT how one conducts business.

Currently my review should be considered middle of the road. I don’t think it’s completely fair to give a full assessment because the restaurant hasn’t had it’s grand opening to my understanding. I’m excited for it and may change my review. Anywho, I enjoyed my experience. The food was delicious and seasoned well. There was flavor and the lamb was not dry and salmon juicy. I think the food took some time but my server was sure to checkin. Plus the delicious punch drink kept me busy. The setup and space is awesome. My critique is, im sadden that the website gallery or food choices differ from what’s offered and their limited menu. Again, they’ve just recently opened and are now working out the kinks. I will return and Im excited to see what will come.
