The environment is very clean, the food is fresh, the bone broth is very fragrant, and the waiters are friendly. I recommend this place—the best hot pot

The hot pot broth was very good here. I had the beef broth with very minimal spicy because they do not make a non spicy beef broth. The broth was so creamy and clean tasting, without the taste of MSG that makes you drink tons of water after consumption of the broth. The ingredients were mostly frozen except for the veggies. Be aware that they charge you by the pound of food that you pick. The bowl that the individual hot pot comes in keeps your food and broth hot for a long time. I would come back just for the broth!!

I went here for the first time for lunch and had a pleasant experience. Basically, how this works, you pick your choice of veggies and protein then they weigh it and then finally, you choose the broth and the level of spiciness. They charge $15 per lb. I went with the pork broth with no spicy. The final preparation came sizzling hot and the broth to my surprise was good but not great. I can taste the msg in it. The veggies and meat was slightly overcooked but edible. The msg made me tired for a few hours. I don’t recommend going here for lunch when you’re at work unless, you don’t mind snoozing off every now and then while trying to do your job. Bring cash! Credit card transaction is only available for purchase of $25 or more. Ridiculous!

Good selection of vegetables but kelp was like 4 feet long. I suppose it’s designed to be eaten like extra long noodles? Or it’s out of laziness? Meats were all frozen. As a street food spinoff of hot pot or shabu-shabu for quickness and inexpensiveness, Ma La Tang shouldn’t be at this price point. Even worse, Cash only (under 25 dollars.)

After being turned away from Nabe hot pot for being a single diner. I went here, I spent the same amount I would’ve there and customer service is great! Great food totally recommend here, especially if you’re a single diner wanting hot pot!

Don’t make a mistake like me and eat here. Just go to all you can eat hot pot and save your money. I paid 40 dollar for myself (including tip) and wasn’t even full afterward.
