This was my first time here, I came for the Loco Moco it was exceptional, I normally don’t like Hawaiian macaroni salad, but I liked this salad. One suggestion when you have them cook it tell them to cook the egg the way you like it, I hope for a runny yolk but I got over medium solid yolk still yummy. The brown gravy and the hamburger was cooked perfectly. I am going back with the menu in hand.

When deciding what to eat for lunch, I commonly find myself coming back to JJ’s. The food is really delicious. The staff are very helpful and kind. The wait for food is not long at all, and the quality of food is premium. They also serve some mean ramen! Best Hawaiian BBQ in Sacramento!

I’m going to give JJ’s three stars for now because they have a pretty big menu so I gotta try a bit more. But, I got the poke bowl and my partner got the spicy Tonkatsu, which he said was delicious! For me, I love raw fish so I was pretty excited for my Poke bowl but tbh I was disappointed. The majority of my bowl was spring mix salad. Literally. There was very little rice on the bottom of the bowl which is what I was looking for when I discovered the vast amount of veggies that was stuffed in this bowl. There was also imitation crab meat in it which I wasn’t expecting because the menu didn’t say anything about it. I’m pretty satisfied with my milk tea boba tho, but I probably won’t be getting a Poke bowl here again. (That’s not a side salad) that’s what was in the bowl!!

Food was great the macaroni salad was perfect the large was a very big portion more then enough for 2-3 people. Friend prawns were also very good added with the sauce. We got the black garlic and tonkatsu ramen were amazing the fatty parts of the meat would melt in your mouth while the broth was very flavorful. All portions were very good felt bad we couldn’t finish the ramen due to how big everything was.

I had a great experience at JJ’s Hawaiian BBQ. When I walked in, I first noticed that the place was clean, the employees were smiling, and the music playing was great. I have never had Hawaiian barbecue before, and realized that the food is pretty heavy, while delicious. I will return!

Me and coworkers like going here during lunch. They really love the Hawaiian but I’m the one to always order ramen. I love it and always leave feeling full and like it was worth it. If you’re in a big group it may take a while so I try to sneak there on my own without others. The #6 ramen hits the spot for sure.
