Cozy little pub and a much needed addition to this side of the lake. We’ve had a home up there for the last 30 years, and for the first time, there is finally a nice little place within walking distance to go have a bite and a brew.

We went here tonight for the first time as it was close to a hiking trail we did. We ended up sitting and waiting for 2 hours for food. Granted, when we first arrived, the pub was really busy, however it cleared up after ~45 min. We were one of the last actual tables to be served (besides just drinks) at 9 PM when we had gotten there at around 7 PM. We saw multiple tables get their orders of food before us that came in after us because they seemed to know the owner / complained about the delay more than my table. Also, the people seated 5 min before us ate and left before we got our food at all. It was not a complicated order: a hotdog, a chicken wrap, chicken tacos, and two baskets of wings… nothing that takes 2 hours. Now, there was a waitress that came over and gave us some free pretzels and fries and apologized for the delay, but nothing was really done about our food. Very frustrating. Only reason I’m giving 2 stars is because the food ended up turning out great, but the experience was just not good for us.

Three burger order, one missing for the kid. Wife having to go check for our chips too we were supposed to get. We sat crowded at an outside patio counter in unlevel patio ground, as the tables were dirty and filled with trash. one couple came and had nowhere to sit so they just shoved the trash aside. Seems like they have no way of tracking orders. They are doing construction so I give them that, and it does look like a nice place. But why be open if you’re going to charge me $65 for two drinks and 3 burgers ?

We are traveling from Nebraska to Santa Cruz for a wedding and are spending 2 nights in Tahoe… We wanted to get away from the tourist activity in truckee where we are staying, so just started driving.. omg… not only is donner lake so quaint and peaceful, the Pub is just as awesome! KK was great as our server, and it’s low key, friendly, and just perfect.. lots of families and couples from the area coming up on their bikes, etc made it fun too! Menu isn’t vast, but everything was great.. we had the veggie burger, fries and the Donner Dip.. no complaints at all!

Great food, had the elk sausage and boneless wings. For our first bite in California we savored every bite. My only issue was with payment, since they didn’t have us paying separately from the start we all paid a third of the overall price of all our meals, which was a little inconvenient, but we enjoyed our time there. Just to note, make sure to tell them if you’re in a group that you’ll be paying separately.
