I was headed from New Jersey to Texas. After a very long car ride we stopped for the night. I will say you do not expect this restaurant to be where it is and quite frankly everything it is. On a street that looks like days gone by is a gem of a restaurant. Service/server was excellent. The food was fresh and you could taste every bite of flavor. A little more salmon on the salad would have made for a perfect salad but the size of the carrot cake made up for it.

Had a really great dinner Friday night at the Grumpy Rabbit. This was our first time. The atmosphere was much trendier than I was expecting. We sat upstairs in a really funky booth. Our server Nikki was really friendly and recommended the meatloaf, which I had. It was a huge portion very tender middle with that perfect outer crust. It was served with mashed which were just ok and not hot along with fried okra that were hot and delicious. I took home leftovers from both entrees. My partner had the blackened Alfredo. For a starter we had the spicy spinach cheese dip, not a fan. It was the only downside to the meal, It was think as if it was the bottom of the pot, not nuch spice abs the chips had that stale texture like they had been sitting around. We also took home carrot cake that was amazing. There is also a full bar with some fun cocktails and local beer. The owner Gigi was around and hit every table. Very pleasant and welcoming. She told us about the goldfish. Even remembered where we came from when saying good bye and drive safe home. Even if the food was no good, and it was great we would go back just for her. We also decided upstairs was the place to sit. As we left a few tables were sat downstairs and it ‘em seemed awkward as the door is right there and people coming in past you to get sat. Highly recommend.

We were very weary from a 12 hr day of travel. We went in 5 minutes before closing and they seated us! They did not make us feel rushed at all. The front has an amazing fish aquarium. The rest of the restaurant was bright and lots of hard surfaces so it was a little noisy The meat loaf was outstanding. Tomato / ketchup cover not gravy. It was tender and moist and light. The macaroni was pretty classic and cheesy but not too rich. We really enjoyed the fried okra. We are from the Pacific NW so it was a nice change from our normal veggie choices. The staff and owner were amazing and friendly and helpful. What a great find in a town we knew nothing about!

Phillip was great upstairs. Black-eyed pea hummus was very tasty with warm pita pieces. Had the impossible burger and fries and was awesome, with fries just right. My wife loves her omelette. We didn’t leave room for carrot cake but will return for it soon.

We stopped in Lonoke overnight and happened upon this restaurant. There have been very few times in my life that a meal has been so wonderful that it was this memorable. The Grumpy Rabbit’s menu has a great blend of unique and standard offerings. My husband ordered the Stuffed Chicken Breast and I had the Pan Seared Salmon. You know how the guitarist in the movie “O Brother Where Are Thou” sells his soul to the devil to become a talented flat picker? Well, I won’t go as far as saying that the chef at The Grumpy Rabbit has sold their soul but some kind of magic has happened for every single thing we tasted to be so exceptional. I mean really, everything. The fish and chicken were both perfectly moist and flavorful. The salmon was skin on and somehow the skin was perfectly crispy while the texture of the fish was still flakey, moist and flavorful. The fried brussel sprouts were crispy yet not oily. How?! All we kept saying during our meal was “wow”… another bite… “wow”. I don’t think I’ve ever given a review so glowing and it might not ever happen again. We might just stop in Lonoke again for the sole purpose of eating here. The staff was super gracious and welcoming to us out of towners. Kudos to whoever makes the magic happen at this gem of a restaurant. I hope your town knows how lucky they are.

Saw the sign on the highway and said Yes!! OMG!! The BEST “swamp grits” on earth!!! Gouda chipotle grits smothered in their roux of fish, shrimp, crawfish, and ham. If I didn’t live in Atlanta I would be a regular!! The vibe was wonderful. They have a patio and upstairs as well as a full bar. What a great road trip find!!

I can not say enough great things about this establishment. I’m just gonna say it is a mood, especially after dark. First off, the restoration, use of space, and division of this place is very very well done. The hostess could use a little more room for people when they walk in awaiting to be seated but space restraints are what they are. The food is FANTASTIC. It is all well proportioned with high quality ingredients and well worth the larger city price. The staff are amazing and you can tell they like what they do. The decor is very pleasing and the choices for seating areas are phenomenal. The outdoor-upstairs and downstairs- balcony eating areas would be a great place for a wedding rehearsal dinner with plenty of places for some swoon worthy photography or even senior pics (check out those staircases). If you haven’t checked out the Grumpy Rabbit, you are missing out. I promise if you enter feeling hangry or GRUMPY, you won’t be when you leave!
