I have been to Beef & Barleys twice since they opened and have had excellent meals on both occasions. The short rib risotto was fantastic & meatloaf (off menu special that evening) was phenomenal. I have yet to have a bad dish there, start to finish. (& don’t skip dessert, they are incredible). My experiences have been great & I will be returning.

What a great place lots of elbow room and nice atmosphere. This was my 5th time here and the food has been great. I have ordered something different each time and have not been disappointed. Nice open air patio and large bar area. Fair price and good portions will definitely keep going back everyone is so friendly.

Great food, friendly and attentive service, and comfortable atmosphere. The burgers are to die for, and everything else we have tried on on the menu has been outstanding. The prices are good. This is our “go to” place for a night out, and we bypass several other places along the way. They just cannot compare to Beef & Barleys

I’ve been here two times. First time was fine. Second time the meals trickled out all of sequence. Five people in my party, each person got their meal at a different time. Some meals came out while others were were completely done with their meal. Completely unprofessional! I think the kitchen staff is sleeping or something.

Feels like a bar missing a pool table. Menu says 1/2 lb turkey burger — not even close. Owner sat a the bar on his cell phone. I asked the bar tender to add a bit more wine to my glass. The owner chimed in “why don’t you buy a bottle.” Pretty bold on the first week of business.

So here’s the thing… there are so many good restaurants in Newtown. Unfortunately this isn’t one of them. Had a 8oz steak… very small. The steak was eh. Certainly not a $22 steak. It comes with a baked potato that was cooked early this am or last night and re-heated. Not good. The buffalo chicken sandwich was just ok. Onion rings were good quality food service onion rings. So many service people but the service was still poor. I don’t think this place will last.

I live coming here. They have a terrace, their burgers are delicious, and for those gluten sensitive like me, you can enjoy a burger as well! They have gluten free buns, and dairy free sides as options too. Great food and atmosphere!

2 stars on the chance they were having an off night, otherwise would have been 1. Food took waaay too long (we saw 2 tables leave before the food came out bc of wait). On top of that, it wasn’t even good. Staff seemed friendly, but super stressed. They knew it was a disaster. I sort of felt bad for some of them. Like I said, hopefully it was just an off night, for their sake. I won’t be going back, though.
